Does anybody use saitek/logitech radio panel with this bird? I can set my transponder, but can not change/swap the radio freq. Do you encounter the same behavior?

I have them but not used in te Bell, because I only fly short hops to learn to fly this chopper. Will look into it.

Just been having a look at that with Spad Next and the problem looks to be that the Bell 47 isn't using the standard MSFS data for Com 1 Active and Standby frequencies that you can manipulate via the Simconnect variables
SIMCONNECT:COM ACTIVE FREQUENCY:1 &
SIMCONNECT:COM STANDBY FREQUENCY:1
Instead it's using a couple of LVARS -
LVAR:AIRCRAFT.RADIOS.COM.1.FREQUENCY.ACTIVE &
LVAR:AIRCRAFT.RADIOS.COM.1.FREQUENCY.STANDBY

I'm hoping there are local event to allow you to easily manipulate these LVARs but I haven't looked at those yet,

Did you report this to c0nnex at the SPAD.neXt Discord or otherwise?

Kind regards, Michael

Not yet I have just posted to the FlyInside forum and they've confirmed they're "going to have a fix that syncs this all within a couple of weeks."

I'm not sure what  can be done on the Spad Next side as I can't spot any custom events that control the radio but I'll mention it in the MSFS 2020 section of the Discord in case that helps anyone.

Edit - Dropped a note in Spad.Next Discord of what I've found,,,

So I have been having problem with power before and after patch. After 20-34 minutes into flight helicopter power goes off (alternator is on all the time). That include ATC windows: that shows radio powered off. And all lights (especially noticeable at night). While MSFS registers no power in com system, transponder and gauges all lit and  visually works. So there is some kind of discrepancy between how MSFS reads alternator power and Bell 47G models it.

Today I tried to bind switch on my Honeycomb Bravo for alternator on/off. While I move alternator switch on and off, the one in the cockpit doesn't move. So it seems they not connected.Any way I turn MSFS alternator on (along with the one inside the cockpit) to see if it get any effect! Unfortunately the results was the same MSFS doesn't register that alternator is on via binding  and so things still go dark. if I don't use any light nav, strobe, panel and etc Bell runs on battery little over 30 minutes. If I turn al light on battery time is shorten by 20 min.

I sincerely hope developer will tackle this problem . While during the day it's not a big deal going totally dark at night is certainly hurts!

@anprogrammer and anyone else who's ever had a chance to fly a real one of these helis; I'm having a great time with this and making progress with full realism on and no governor (but engine failures off). I'm hoping you can help with a couple of questions

I'm trying to tweak the movement / range or travel of my throttle on my collective. Can you give an approximate travel range in degrees that the throttle would need to be rotated during flight, to maintain safe rpm and manifold pressure during maneuvers and hovering? Would expect to twist it more than 45 degrees?

Would it be possible to add a couple of virtual rpm and manifold meters as a floating HUD that moves with the VR headset, it's position be customised and can be toggled on / off, while learning?   At the moment, the RPM and manifold gauges are just a little too low down in my VR view on my VR headset to be read clearly, and need to keep looking down at them.  I appreciate they are probably clearer and  within peripheral vision in real life.

Thank you 🙂

And a couple more 🙂

I watched a video of a Vietnam chopper pilot talking about pumping the collective to gain RPM if the rotors get bogged down during forward flight and unable to spin them up to ideal speed. I've noticed this sometimes works in the 47g too. Is this intentional?

Achieving a soft/gentle landing and maintaining control during very low hover seems to be a bit easier without the governor, by throttling back a bit below the RPM margins. Would this be normal practice?

Gotta say that a floats version of this would be amazing!  Hint hint.

Is anyone receiving emails from the developer when updates are out?

We used a Bell 47 in the police department I worked for way back up until late 80s early 90's. Then switched over to an Enstrom.
