June 26, 20214 yr I just watched the promo video from Microsoft. It made me cry. I mean Hallmark Channel cry. It was so personal and emotional. But what's up with those red trainers Panos? And the Steve Jobs black shirt with a zippered jacket? I'm excited about this new feature called "widgets." A brilliant innovation we've never seen before. And rounded icons! Microsoft has broken new ground again! It made me want to lick the screen of my monitor they looked so good! I don't care how it runs. I just feel all warm and comfortable after watching that. And the Surface gets rounded corners, too. And they've kindly made it easier to spend money in the Microsoft Store. They really do care. The best news is that all Microsoft Support will be handled by native English speakers whose training meets new, exacting standards and will not give up until they've solved your problem to your satisfaction. Wait. So Microsoft is becoming Apple? (Just kidding about the tech support.) Microsoft Windows 11 Livestream Event | Microsoft

It really does not matter. If your PC is old enough to need a separate TPM 2.0 module, it probably will not even have the header and in any case, its CPU will be too old for the stated Windows 11 compatibility requirement. If your PC is TPM 2.0 compliant, it will most likely already have either Intel PTT or the AMD equivalent built in, but disabled. If so, then there is still no need to buy a TPM 2.0 chip. In both cases, the inevitable but distasteful element of human greed can be safely ignored. Microsoft should have been more clear in the explanation of the actual requirement and those who write this stuff or make videos about it should have thought harder. In short, it is much ado about nothing. I see that the message has been changed, one small step in the right direction but nowhere near far enough. Edited June 27, 20214 yr by Reader

July 6, 20214 yr Author Microsoft took down their health check app. Here's how to download a 3rd party health check app that does more or less the same thing: Information: https://github.com/rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11 1 download autlot here: https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/downloads 2 download the source code: click the green box labeled CODE and choose 'download.zip', and download the source code from here: https://github.com/rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11 3 run autlot (which you downloaded in 1) 4 right click on whynotwin11.au3 (the source code from step 2) and choose compile script 64 version. This will create a WhyNotWin11.exe file directly below whynotwin11.au3. 5 To run a check anytime, just click/run WhyNotWin11.exe (which you have just created). ------------------------------------------ When I ran it... 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 6, 20214 yr I would not worry Windows11 will not be a forced upgrade, Like W7-W10 the user will have to install it when offered next year, only preloaded on new PCs from around October. Edited July 6, 20214 yr by G-RFRY Raymond Fry.
