Now MSFS intentionally adds in scenery pop-in as a "feature" and some are fine with it. Weird Because there is a major difference, FSX pop-ins were happening right in front of the view, while MSFS pop-ins only happen when the view is panned. The former is significantly more distracting than the latter. And again, when considering this "feature" significantly reduced pop-ins in front of the view, only having pop-ins when the view is panned is a good trade-off. PC specs: i5-12400F, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM. Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.
July 28, 20214 yr Just my useless opinion of course, but I think that now that a good performance baseline has been introduced, they certainly have the ability to allow the "real" simmers on PCs to gain the ability to reduce or eliminate the pop ins. Mention was made by them in past vids that an extra ultra setting could be implemented, and I would like to think they will.

July 28, 20214 yr I'm seeing worst LOD and draw distance - everything set to Ultra. Above 5000 feet this is most noticeable. Edited July 28, 20214 yr by Mark_A

If you use TrackIR and swing your head around you can see things loading, its very obvious and very awful IMO. I am perfectly happy with getting a lot more drawing distance and performance in expense of pop-ins. No one pans their head in flight? I'm not understanding this. I do it in the sim, and I do it in real life...especially when I'm maneuvering visually. I did it once - went into a turn without first looking in the direction I was going to turn - after the roasting I got off my instructor for doing that, it was the last time I ever did it. We were at about 4,000 feet over Leicester at the time, and I'm pretty sure people on the ground could have the instructor shouting at me and calling me an word not allowed. 🤣 Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Go back forward, scenery pop-in. The scenery appears to not actually exist until you look at it I'm not seeing this How about rather than reading the official forum going by what we can see in the sim itself?
