To date, I have no experience with it. "OMG! Does it look complicated, from just the download page!!! Geez...." Edited August 15, 20214 yr by Sesquashtoo

Then, you can delete all those files you have downloaded from various sources. If ever you need to reinstall, or whatever, merely use the Community.zip to repopulate your Community Folder. Done... What on earth for???

August 15, 20214 yr I have to admit, not everyone on here, is as computer savvy as myself! (lol with many asterisks!!!!!) I mean, a zip file? is that a fancy name for those boxes of plastic things you store food in? With the current health scare and a lot of people with a lot more time on their hands are getting onto computers, and some don't yet know what the "space bar" does on the keyboard. Sesquashtoo did nothing wrong. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

Yes, essentially, you begin by setting up a folder on your PC (I have it on the desktop).... call it anything you want.... I call my "MSFS Addons", then move all the content of your Community folder into that new folder. (So, Community folder is now empty). When you first launch the Addons Linker it will ask you where your content is, and you browse to that new folder you've set up. Then, to use Addons Linker simply use the click button dialogue screen on the left to select or deselect addons that you want to have installed in MSFS. Set up a profile by clicking the New Profile button and then save your new profile. Et voila.... Addons Linker places shortcuts into the Community folder, for the addons you have selected. You can have multiple profiles; eg.... a one that uses a specific plane and it's mods, a one for airliners, etc, etc, .... personally, I just use one profile called "Current" and I select or deselect the addons that I want to use in a given session in MSFS and then press the button in the very far right bottom of the dialogue screen. This updates my "Current" profile, so that only the selected addons will be 'placed' into the Community folder. The main benefit of Addons Linker is the fast and convenient ability to choose what is active in the Community folder. It's great for CTDs as, literally in a couple of clicks you can deselect suspect addons, update and BAM..... that's your Community folder changed, without having to physically move any files in and out of the Community folder. It's not really about disk space saving, although that could be a side benefit. For me, it's an absolute essential. Eg. Yesterday, I wanted to fly in Australia in the G36 Turbo mod. So, I deselect all other mods, and simply select my Australia addon airports, along with the G36 Turbo mod. Click update and then, those will be the only mods active in the Community folder = I am far less likely to get CTDs caused by other content, not relevent to the flight I'm doing. Bear in mind that my description of the utility above, makes it sound 50000% more complicated to use, that it is in reality!
