My insignificant boycott of any new Carenado purchases will not impact their bottom line (unless I can collectively get everyone to join in), but on principal I refuse to give money to a dev who put themselves into this horrible position by selling in the marketplace only.   Not knowing the details into which they entered this disastrous contract with MS/Asobo, I can only speculate that this was the path of least resistance for them, not having to maintain a separate commerce site for their MSFS products, and best of all, like you mentioned, gives them someone to lay blame onto and wash their hands of any timelines to get things fixed.

I see a pretty lame excuse in 'Because that one was one of our first aircraft, they need much more reconditioning ......' for the Mooney because I'd bet all the money I've spent on Carenado products over the decades that they've stuffed her in a corner and are working hot-n-heavy on the next moneymaker...because it makes complete sense.  Take dev time to update and FIX the Mooney....no money in that as its already gone past its profitability margin....OR.....spit out the much anticipated C337 Mixmaster...rake in the dough and calculate which plane to pop out next?

No need to even speculate....its a proven fact that this is their business model...the Mooney gets them no Mooney (hehe)...new planes line their pockets.

While I'd love to get back into the cramped Mooney 'pit....I'm not going to get my hopes up at all with this model.  It's no longer relevant to Carenado, because it can't make them the same money as a new release.

I'd love for them to come here and debunk my speculation on their business model....but we know they never will.  They are too chicken! 🤣  (hoping they have a Marty McFly mentality and calling them chicken will bring them out to fight) 🙂

Marketplace product updates and new additions also get announced in the weekly communication Asobo put out (confusingly called an 'update'), but this doesn't normally go out until midnight on Thursday night (UK time) for some reason.
I stay up for it! 

Chaotic Beauty normally posts it up on the forum within minutes, and it gets pinned at the top of the forum page fairly quickly. 

It normally contains a bit of news also.  Tonight, I am hoping they announce dates for the Ju-52 and the DX-12 update, along with any other acknowledgments of some of the minor fixes they are looking at, such as the recent night lighting issue.

I see P3D,  I see FSX,  but after a year I still don't see MSFS.   That support forum should be booted from this site.

Well in all fairness.....using the words support and Carenado together is an oxymoron, esp when it comes to MSFS.  No real need for an MSFS support forum because there is nothing we can do to mod/repair their files as end-users like we could (looking at you @Bert Pieke) in the past.  We almost universally have the same question, which is always raised here..."Has the (insert your aircraft here) been updated.....YET? 🤬"  LoL   

The Carenado forums here at Avsim are unofficial and the only contributors are customers.  Carenado has never (to my knowledge) supported their products here.  Don't know why they don't want to interact with their customers here, would go a long way to mending the negative feelings most old simmers have IMO.  But, as I speculate in my post above, they're pretty sure if a few old simmers boycott their products out of principle, it won't really affect their bottom line...just keep pushing out new planes...and most people will buy them, even if they only work for one update cycle...then again when they decide to fix them. 🤔

I got the 182 also. Didn't think it was terrible but I liked the default 172 so much better that I didn't see the point of keeping it.

@Asobo keeps mentioning they are reading AvSim along with other sites, and it is my "home base" so I post here mostly, but sometimes I wonder if they really do...

They could also try properly supporting their own Aviat Husky as well

Carenado airplanes are about as good as the unmodified default airplanes that the sim comes with.  There are people working on many of those default airplanes, slowly, methodically and they're getting better.  Not so with the Carenado.  I will support any dev that develops good GA, but, really...if their quality stays like this?  No.  I'll fly the defaults and save my money until good planes come out.

I'm just glad they've said the M20 will be getting some love.  My fav MSFS aircraft and very hopeful it'll eventually come through to the Marketplace for update.  

Carenado has chosen their price and quality set point, and I for one are very grateful they got the Mooney into MSFS so early in the piece.  May not be A2A quality, but at least they're still giving updates and doing work.  

I agree, and it is only because of the early debut of the Mooney I plunged into the Carenado chasm again.... she is very good, but unfinished. There's no plausible explanation being given, other than finger pointing at MSFSMP (which I also agree is a disaster when it comes to timely updates).
