Compilation CPU Temps

Featured Replies

Hi,

I would like to collect in this thread you CPU temps in msfs. Please write which CPU you use and the Average temp after a flight and the the maximum temperature. You can use HWinfo64 do to check these values.

Mine:

i9-10850k

Averag: 64-60°C

Maximum: 91°C

Without knowing other hardware parameters like overclock settings (clock speed, voltage), hyperthreading on/off, AVX offset, cooling type and also performance-related software settings, I don't see how the data could be of much use.

It's not about comparing our CPU's. It's about to get in impression on what different CPU results are on temperatures on msfs. The more data we get, the more we get in impression on what normal to what is not normal. Of course you can add more information as you like.

I run my CPU at 4,8 Ghz with not AVX offset and HT on. I have set an adaptive offset, but don't remember the value right now.

I don't have peaks during gaming. The max temp I've seen during stability testing with OCCT/Prime95 was 91 °C.

7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

5600X running at stock (though gameboost is on in the bios).

Went over 90°C in recent hot weather. Normally runs in the low 80s with MSFS.

I did observe a temperature drop when I reduced the framerate limit from 60 to 30 if that makes sense or anyone is interested.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Ryzen 3600

Average: 72-77°C

Maximum: 86°C

Small water cooler with single 120 mm radiator/fan.

(Much cooler (45-50°C) than the above when not running MSFS).

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Ryzen cpus do seem to run a lot hotter than intel.  I've had a mixture of AMD and Intel cpus over the years and that always seems 5o be the case.

I've had more success overclocking intel than AMD though.

The question always arises - how hot is too hot.  90°C is certainly too hot for my liking with my 5600X whereas with an Intel CPU you may start getting concerned at 80°C.

Usually peaks at around 65

Average around 40

Edit: The ASUS ROG Ryujin 360 cooler should probably be listed as ASUS ROG Ryujin 720 since I run it with 6 fans in a push/pull config 🙂
