Just keep fitting in what you can.  It will propagate!   And fortunately without alligator clips.

If you're not a multi-platform users, then I'd recommend making the best of what is there in MSFS.

I am multi-platform, despite the attacks on that from others here.  And I continue to bypass shortcomings by logging hours in that other platform.  Flying 7,000 and above with realistic live weather has a calming influence on the fervor.  Its how I would be flying if still doing so.  So patiently I wait this out.

My main issue is lack of Dragons and Griffin.

When I was told these things are merely imaginary and do not belong in a flight simulator I nearly fell off my Unicorn.

MSFS 2020 is first and foremost a gaming platform, with lip service paid to "more serious simmers".

Asobo and Microsoft want to make money, addon developers want to make money: this means selling a lot of units to a lot of people, not spending 10 years developing something that only a handful will actually buy.

This all in a

Which is a good thing overall. it will attract more people into the hobby who otherwise would find it intimidating - while keeping a viable market alive for XPlane and 3PD (both of which would die out if MSFS took over the "serious" study level side of things).

If people stop buying junk developers will stop producing it.

this right here . its a good starting point .

Love the term "we should demand", 1) not sure who this "we" is referring to and 2) there is pretty much a demand already in place: it's called "the market" - this demand may or may not align with what avsimmers want. 😄

Can't help you with those, but there's a variety of such things here - https://flightsim-squadron.itch.io/for-fun including a magic carpet - I've been hoping for one of these since day one! Haven't tried it yet, but for a few dollars donation I got a whole load of toys.

Not sure if it's study level though.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I agree with the original poster.  The only plane I now fly is the freeware A330. Almost all the time, Yes there is the aerosoft CRJ 550/700 and its certainly good, But  too much work to fly it.

The P28 ain't bad from Just flight. The Lose of Real air is shame!

“we should demand”

Yup…exactly why some addon devs would rather avoid AVSIM like the plague, when it comes to feedback and customer relations.😒

Not really sure what you mean by this?

My point was that i am getting tired of buying over and over the same airplane for numerous simulators. I'll rather have them focus on delivering something new. And..retrocompatibility in a way doesn't help achieve such a thing.

Of course that would open the whole debate "reliable plane sooner or new airplane later on" but heh

Yeah, The flight Plan I have to use something else and The default flt plan...For ATC. thats what I mean by Pain. 🙂

The only way to get better aircraft is not buying word not allowed aircrafts. I also think there is a market for default like quality aircrafts, lots of peoples just like to go fast in something resembling a fighter jet. If for every hardcore simmer there are 5 peoples that just want a new plane to have fun in it I think it makes sense for someone to deliver for that market. Quality takes time, i`m sure there will be lots of high quality airplanes in the future, we just need to wait a bit more.
