October 19, 20214 yr Just wondering if anyone here has experience with "Traffic Global" from Just Flight...It is pretty expensive, but I have had difficulty trying other traffic programs...This program claims to "do it all" and easily...I would sure appreciate any comments/experiences you could share...Thanks a lot! October 19, 20214 yr With payware, you pay for the relative ease of having AI that approximates some of the real world. With freeware, like Alpha India Group (as described on another thread to you), you get more variety of airlines and/or GA, better-looking models, numerous liveries, real fleets, more up-to-date schedules, etc. Many Flight Simmers, myself included, have long given up on anything other than AIG freeware. It's just simply superior to any payware stuff, regularly updated and improved, plus we have plenty of flexibility in where and what we install. Honestly, the only reason to chose payware is the initial convenience of install. There's usually a lot of buyer's remorse once AIG's install method is understood and their better results are experienced. October 20, 20214 yr Moderator @LTCSZ, if you want a quick and easy way of getting Ai running then TG or other payware programs are an easy option. The downside is updates will be infrequent and defunct airlines will stay around. Also, you’re unlikely to see many airlines in the more obscure countries. AIG is the most comprehensive package around. The downside is it takes a while to install but there’s no requirement to install all available airlines. Start with the big ones and add others in slow time. And whilst it may be described as freeware the servers holding the data don’t run on fresh air so donations are welcome. Ray (Cheshire, England). Indeed it is ..... but for @LTCSZ , AIG is no without its costs (apart from being donateware in the first instance) more often than not the "models" behind many an AI aircraft aren't necessarily free (though they are relatively inexpensive in the comprehensive options available) for now, cheers john martin

If you use Ai Companion to analyse the aircraft used by the various airlines the vast majority comprise Airbus and Boeing and with the exception of one or two variants are free. I haven’t bought any models and at EGLL have 100+ Ai in the sim. Payware ones are the icing on the cake and if you install all the major airlines you really won’t notice. Ray (Cheshire, England). Choosing between freeware and payware models in the AIGAIM settings means not having to pay for any. 1 hour ago, Ray Proudfoot said: And whilst it may be described as freeware the servers holding the data don’t run on fresh air so donations are welcome. October 22, 20214 yr I have not used traffic global since P3d V3, When I did it worked good. Currently I am using UTL from flight1 and it works great, very easy on FPS for what it adds. October 25, 20214 yr I own Traffic Global. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Advantages versus AIG: Ease of installation - if you count having to completely reinstall Windows after this buggy piece of "software" destroys your system (yes, that's what happened on my first try). Ease of uninstallation. As I mentioned in another, long ago post - I'd prefer to have Stuxnet on my system than this piece of "software", and that's if my system was a centrifuge. So you're going to want to uninstall this, pretty quickly. It's easy to uninstall - just buy another hard drive and start from there. Just don't try and do it via the standard methods, it's surprising resistant to deletion. No excessive traffic. Frightened by the wide variety of liveries present on real-world aircraft? Traffic global has you covered. By limiting the aircraft to a small fraction of those seen in real life - unlike AIG - your brain will not be overwhelmed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously, my least favourite piece of flight simulation software ever. Wasted so many hours trying to fix systems after installing. Maybe it's got better - don't know, don't care - AIG is a hundred times better. There's lots of misinformation about AIG around these types of threads. No, you don't need payware models in any practical sense. No, it's not difficult to install - yes, this was true years ago, but hasn't been the case for a long time. I have MT6, TG and UT2 - in other words, all the payware options. I cannot imagine ever using them again. AIG is just so much better, it's not even a competition. Oh, and hi chaps - hope P3D has been treating you well. 🙂 Edited October 25, 20214 yr by OzWhitey Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. October 26, 20214 yr OMG there seems to be a type of hysteria, with AIG fans, about Traffic Global, I’m sure that Just Flight would respond if TG was eating customers’ hard drives & Windows installs, & it is a best selling product, TG works OK for me in P3D & XP11, mainly use MFS these days, horses for courses!

A thought occurred to me that maybe it could be from a group of avid English speaking talented flight simmers from India. 🙂 Indians from India are all over tech (lots of them in Silicon Valley). October 27, 20214 yr I use Traffic Global for P3dv5 and I have had no issues with it. There are times when there is not enough traffic at certain airports, or perhaps the livery doesn't match the location, but all in all it is easy to use and plausible. Bottom line is that it does the job for my purposes. Cheers, Pete Pete Solov - Lake in the Hills 3CK and Schaumburg Regional 06CProud AOPA Member - PPL 2001Real World Piper Cherokee Pilot
