Just started flight at EGGP. More AI  than I have ever seen, three aircraft taxxing out for takeoff, two Ryan Air and One Jetstar. Weird, because at first I couldn't figure out if it had installed or not. Can't find any documentation on the folder, but everything seems to be working. A few of  the AI on the other hand seems to have some strange behavior, doing pirouettes on the ramp rather than taxing in a straight line. Not sure if this is a MSFS issue or the Simple AI problem.????

Climbing out of EGGP and their are AO traffic everywhere, more than I have ever seen, and I only have AI set at 40%

That issue is with the sim as I see it with AIG as well.

Yes, I thought I saw that two days ago just using Default AI... They need to fix that.

Yes, Asobo needs to fix the strange AI behavior! Good to see lots of traffic, which in the past was always lacking.

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

The traffic seems to be confined according to my EFB display, of about a 90 mile radius around my aircraft. So the hit on FPS is pretty minimal. Good mix of aircraft, C 172, Regional Jets, Twin Jets,

Has anyone seen a manual or documentation on this program I can't even find the folder where the program sits, just the install folder that I downloaded it to? Never mind I found it, it is in the Aerosoft one program

90 nm radius seems reasonable! Thanks for sharing your experience!

I think what happens is that when AIG has shown their new free software, (which also provides ai model), Aerosoft has woken up and said: We must sell this now!

The problem is that I see in their video teasers that the planes are poorly defined. The noses of the plane culminate in a peak. And another important thing: they are taking off. Something that at the moment is not true, since in MSFS, the ai traffic does not take off.

So I think it is a commercial operation. Sorry to say this, but I think so. Well, I'm not really sorry.

Ultimately, MSFS sold us real air traffic last year, which also landed and took off with ATC in their videos,  Instead we have .... mmm..well, just go-arounds.

I wonder if the program uses the "trafficAircraft.bgl" file that AIG renames? Would like to try simple traffic out, but not unless both programs can be used without having to change files. But if it's the same as MSFS then planes won't take off, and they will disappear after landing, at least for me thats what happens.

So you are saying AI planes shouldn't take off.???? And is Microsoft - Asobo a Commercial Operation?  I don't get the point of your post at all,,

AI behavior isn't going to change with either sadly.  Whatever AI bugs MSFS has natively both AIG and ST are going to be impacted by.  That means spinning AI, low flying AI and all the other bugs the SU's introduced are still there with both.  Neither program can overcome the core sims deficiencies and they both make that very clear.   The models are MSFS AI default, they also made that very clear from day 1.  To be fair they have been completely upfront about setting expectations and for some this is not what they ultimately desire from Asobo but fills a needed void between Asobo default and those who don't want AIG.  Good to have options for everyone.

  • Simple Traffic is designed to completely replace the MSFS ‘Generic’ twin-jet and quad-jet AI aircraft. Any other AI add-ons which also contain ‘Generic’ twin-jet or quad-jet aircraft will cause a conflict (see Conflict Checking section above). We therefore recommend that any other AI addons containing ‘Generic’ aircraft should be uninstalled or re-configured.
  • Due to a known bug in MSFS, in Online AI traffic mode, AI traffic spawns with no front landing gear at airports and does not depart: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/new-live-traffic-bug-departing-aircraft-spawn-with-front-landing-gear-up-and-dont-actually-depart/427249. This bug does not affect Offline AI traffic mode
  • Simple Traffic applies liveries to the default MSFS AI models. It does not make changes to the models themselves, and therefore inherits all the properties of those models and any changes made in Sim Updates.
  • Simple Traffic has no influence on AI aircraft parking locations, taxi paths, or flight paths. This behaviour is controlled internally by the sim engine.
  • In Online AI mode, liveries are selected according to the live traffic data feed within the sim. If Simple Traffic does not yet include a livery for a given airline, then a random livery is selected. This behaviour is controlled internally by the sim engine.

Have a Wonderful Day
