Get EGPH or LGKO.  then fly in there at night.  Let me know how you get on.

Well, that's just Gaya Sim being really terrible at optimization with every P3D scenery they make.

Of course it is not laziness, just a critique regarding overpriced offerings from Jetline. As a teenager I also thought that Alienware computers were magically superior. Now I just know better...

Well, I've been a Dell customer from day one....desktops, laptops, and not one, not one has EVER had a warranty claim, a return, or component failure.  In fact, all my Dell's are still working and in service, from given to my kids, and they to my grand kids. From 30  or more years ago.  Dell computers have been in my household a worthy and ever faithful purchase...and never did I feel it/they was/were overpriced, and not when reading  about other user's component built, that have their spoken about failures et all., or specs that do not complement or work together to produce a fully satisfactory software running....  Each to their own...and apparently, we have three Jetline owners, that appear to love their purchase and recommend the 'brand'.

Would I build my own in the future? Sure...and will most likely use my current Dell XPS 730x MONSTER  tower case to host a chosen M.B. and then the CPU/GPU/Memory stick(s) combo that will get plopped into it, again...did I 'go wrong' by ordering a top level gaming Dell desktop in the year it was ordered?  No sir....I did not...and am getting fabulous results with P3D v5.3 HF1 (light fix) on my nearly 12 year old Dell XPS 730X tower.  I'll bet the Jetline guys n gals, also push the button, watch everything spin up, ..and go and fly....  I'll bet that...

Very happy with 5.3.

Bought Narita, Haneda, Hiroshima, Kansai, Kobe, Fukuoka, Shanghai (both airports), Xiamen, Kunming, two Okinawa airports, Seoul (both airports) and Jeju this week and will likely get more. Plus Osaka, Shanghai, Tokyo and Seoul city scenery.

Don’t blame me if P3D addons aren’t selling.

"My gawd...did you leave anything on the shelf for the rest of us?!?? '   LOLOLOLOL!   Enjoy...I'm looking at around three or four to fill in some areas between the PNW and Alaska....mostly along the ocean....

Hard finals, or somehow deficit?   Most of my $$$$'s dropped at Orbx has been for North American properties, and when I can, for anything on the East or West coast near the ocean, or one can fly from the property to cruise along my favorite terrain, coastal areas. I do have a few selected 'tourist' purchases in Europe...mostly around Orbx's great Norway Region.  That is a stunning purchase all on its own.  So, what's with EGPH or LGKO?   Challenging approaches or thumb's down?

I would trust Jetline over Dell any day.  Building one's own custom PC is NOT for everyone, there is actually A LOT to know to get the best possible results for any given $$$ price point.  I've offered to help folks with PC builds, but no takers.

Cheers, Rob.

I have never looked at Jetline, Rob..but Dell has been a total success story for my household, and anybody else I have recommended they take a peek at. Nobody has yet tried to tar and feather me...LOL! Cheers.

Correct.  But Orbx are happy enough to sell their junk.

I have always had a good experience in the past with Dell products and their support. My last Dell was actually an Alienware I purchase in 2009 when I updated to FSX from FS09. It was a very good desktop and dependable and still operates well. However by 2015 it was too dated for P3D 3.4 so i purchased a Jetline computer. They are a little spendy but well worth it for anyone like me who cannot build their own desktop. I am now running P3D 5.3 Hf1+1 on the Jetline system and still does well for an older OC 6700K and a GTX 1070.

EGPH at night is fixed, don't know when that happened but it is fixed. No more brightness overload.

What about the poor quality terminal gate number and car park textures? The weird "grass edging"? The rather odd looking base of the light poles? I was very disappointed with the Gaya/ORBx version of EGPH Edinburgh when it was released, and I have never been back. What I would love to see would be a P3D version of the Pyreegue product....

I spent a fair bit on ORBX this week as well, but wish they would update the pricing of some of their products to reflect their age. Would like to pick up New Zealand but find it a bit odd that I need to buy two packages to cover the country and pay 2.4x more then all of Australia which was updated to V2, and is far better value and is more up to date.

UK (non True-Earth version) is even worse with with having to buy 4 packages to cover the country. Even at 40% off it’s still poor value.

Just my 2-cents…

In fairness, I do have a BIAS towards custom builds, just as Steve (Gamer Nexus) has a BIAS towards custom builds also.  But given the choice, I would recommend Jetline as they also offer FAA approved simulators.  But I've never owned a Dell, only passed along videos from someone who has taken them apart to see what's inside.

Cheers, Rob.

My Dell (2008) XPS 730x is built like a tank...all my fans and their size,  are Server Grade, high quality stainless steel ball bearings and each section of the tower is controlled by its own fan speed chip...so I will hear various sections of the tower GPU, CPU, Memory locations ramp up, or slow down independent of the total volume of the case...which is a true monster in size H/D/W!   The 730x is totally rebuildable with whatever you want to throw in...and not locked out by Dell (proprietary) for any component.  This was the finest Dell Gaming computer they ever made...and it (the model) only lasted 2 years, because they bought Alienware...and did not want their top end $$$$  XPS Gaming competing with Alienware. They wanted all Dell-loyal gamers steered to Alienware....

When I opened up the case of my first Jetline, I was taken aback in a good way. It was a thing of beauty. Customer for life. ☺️

I used to operate exclusively Dell hardware at work back in the day. For business desktops, and back then for workstation PCs and low-to-mid-range servers, they were unbeatable on price / performance. But I would never have bought a Dell as a gaming PC. I know they sell machines specifically marketed as gaming / entertainment now, and of course they own Alienware, but for high performance PCs for gaming I would always, always build myself. Just like if I were a car racing enthusiast, I'd build my own car (admittedly usually from a base car rather than as parts from scratch!). If you care about squeezing the last drops of performance out of your rig, it's just the best way to go.

But if you aren't confident doing that then a custom PC builder using off-the-shelf parts rather than a system builder whose parts will be custom to them is the next best option IMHO. Anyone who's ever owned a Dell desktop and needed to replace the PSU will know all about non-standard system builder parts. I do think Jetline's prices are a bit inflated, probably because of the whole certification thing and the fact that they are the only builder uniquely dedicated to this market (that I know of). You're paying for the brand and the support as much as anything else.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I do think that if you're going to get into the 'hardcore simmer' bracket in terms of ££££/$$$$ spent, then you do need to cultivate a better-than-average understanding of computers, operating systems and hardware. Otherwise you're likely to end up frustrated and/or paying through the nose for help. I'm not suggesting that you become der8auer or anything... but get comfortable with the innards of your PC and how they fit together, how the OS works, how GPUs work, how to overclock CPUs etc. Enthusiast-level stuff. It's as much part of the everyday skillset that you need to maintain an advanced sim as knowing how to fly the plane is, IMHO.

Or else have a good friend with that skillset with time on their hands... I am That Guy for a few people I know 🙂
