What do you experts think about the performance?  Seems a bit underpowered to me.  I was only at 3000 msl but at 25 squared I was getting about 140 kias.  Feel like it should be 155 or so.

Sounds about right for 3000 feet- I saw in a later post that you were getting about 160kts at 7500.

"Skymasters aren’t speed demons, although the turbocharged models do respectably well for pilots willing to take them into the teens. Owners of normally aspirated models can plan on between 155 and 165 knots true, depending on altitude and how much fuel they want to burn. The turbocharged and pressurized models will push 190 to 200 knots at 20,000 feet, their maximum certified altitude. At middle altitudes, 170 to 180 knots is typical for the turbo models, which isn’t all that bad.

Since Skymasters have relatively small displacement six-cylinder engines, fuel burn tends to be reasonable, ranging from 15 GPH to 22 GPH total, with 19 to 20 GPH typical for a 150- to 160-knot cruise. For comparison, a Twin Comanche will do about the same speed on 100 fewer horsepower and a lot less gas. Efficiency isn’t a Skymaster hallmark, except when compared to larger, faster twins."

In Canada, if you get your “multi” on the C337 you are not certified to fly a conventional twin such as a Seminole. But if you get your conventional multi rating, you are certified to fly the C337.

not only in Canada, but everywhere else. that's why I said it is a useless multi engine rating except for center line thrust airplanes, a.k.a. Cessna 337.

very nice.

Ya it is a useless rating for sure.

Did this apply in 1962 which is the date I was talking about?

Love your repaints Ryan, if there is a livery that screams 70s like Orange and Brown can’t wait!  So glad I was born in 1975! 🙂

How bout this?  Almost done.

if you are interested in aviation history, perhaps you can find out and let us know. and since you are interested in aviation history details: Cessna introduced the Model 337 Super Skymaster In February 1965.

I am talking about the present, and how it applies to anyone looking for a multi-engine rating and why the 337 multi-engine rating does not qualify to fly any other twin airplane. the term multi-engine is a bit misleading here, that's why I mentioned the special center line thrust subject, as explained in detail above.

I don’t even know what I did last weekend, so no idea if this applies to 1962 🤦‍♂️

Really liking that livery…I’m sorry but I’ll be “that guy”, available today at some point do you think?

Yes it's based off a 1976 catalogue for the Mixmaster lol - the lighting in the sim plays a lot of tricks - for instance I'm not certain if I'm in love with this orange/red.  It looks great in some light and a little too red in some other light.  Then again the white balance on this original photo is totally off.... (or on if you're from 1975 LOL)

Here's the link to the download:  https://flightsim.to/file/26321/1975-retro-livery-for-carenado-c337-skymaster

Great work. Do you do interiors too?

I’m from 1975 and it looks “ON” to me...it’s weird going through life with that weird color balance but you get used to it. 😂
