@Rockliffe  That's not a bad video for a scrumpy-sipper!  :biggrin:

An excellent little video, and a great little showcase for MSFS, which I think was your intention.
To be fair, if you had shown me that video before MSFS was announced, just over two years ago, I would have been ready to give my right arm for a sim that looks like that.

Really nice contrasting scenery there, especially with the green estuary.  Where exactly is that along the Gold Coast?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Wow ... and superb *video* quality as well!!! What did you use to record the video?

I think MSFS still has a fair way to go in functionality (we can wait!) but, visually, it never ceases to impress me. I'm not sure whether it's one of the 1,000s of tweaks I've tried or the latest nVidia driver, but my system has never looked cleaner and sharper .. touch wood!!!

Mine looks great and not one tweak.

I was just there myself.  totally different look though.  started at RockHampton and ended at the WhitSunday Islands.

Scrumpy sipper indeed!  Yes, just wanted to capture a short clip that shows MSFS to it's full, and it just so happened that the real weather and location fitted the bill perfectly. I can't remember the location exactly, but it was a flight on Saturday, somewhere just south of Mackay, which incidentally, I think will be my next Orbx purchase

Thanks for the kind words matey. I have tried a number of software but I use Xbox game bar capture with this, it doesn't record 4K only 1080p, but that's OK. The I edit in Sony Vegas Pro 17. So the capture has been grded a little. A little more saturation, reduced the brightness and adjust the levels accordingly. Nothing too serious.

I thought I may as well post the second video taken a little further down the coast, close to Gold Coast airport. In this clip, I found when circling at a particular height with the clouds in the foreground, I feel it gets very close to reality...

Sorry for the thread crash, but was so happy to see the Whitsunday's finally rendered well in MSFS.  Whitehaven beach and Hill Inlet now just stunning....!  And the beautiful green/blue water around the islands rendered beautifully along with the coral reefs.

Great videos 🙂

Even after the Aus update, much of the Gold Coast photogrammetry that I've checked, is still about 5-7 years out of date.

Sadly the beaches look terrible during low flying, with a muddy crusty appearance, more like moreton bay, instead of sheets of clean golden sands.

Parts of MSFS's Northern NSW beaches look more accurate and are closer to what you'd expect to see for the Gold Coast

It would be awesome if MSFS can update it.

Hi Bob, it's not the Gold Coast Australia. Could that be USA gold coast? 😉

Sunny-Coast.png

but one can be excused for confusing the two, as currumbin - coolangatta/tweed heads area and maroochy - moololaba area do look similar, difference being gold coast has broad beaches virtually covering it's entire coastline
