February 15, 20224 yr Hello Beta participants! It’s been a productive five days since we launched the Sim Update 8 Beta. We’d like to thank you for being a part of this testing opportunity and provide an update on the feedback we’ve captured so far. A new build is currently in the works and should make its way to your platform in the next few days, but in the meantime, here are updates on hot topics you’ve sent to us: Bugs and/or Regressions FPS Impacted by Default Device Option vs. Specific Device: 2 A fix has been made internally. This will be in the next beta build for you to test. Thrustmaster HOTAS One Xbox Crash: 2 A fix has been made internally. This will be in the next beta build for you to test. The C152 and C208 are crawling backwards with brakes and full throttle 2: A fix has been made internally. This will be in the next beta build for you to test. While using VR, the Toolbar Windows are reset every time you exit the Cockpit view: The VR team is currently investigating. We will provide another update on this as soon as possible. While using VR, mouse over the panel or Garmin avionics locks up rudder: 2 This is currently by design and only affects the Rudder Axis command. If you bind your rudders to another command (e.g. Rudder Axis Left), then you will be able to manipulate the rudders while your mouse is over panels. Our other suggestion is to move the mouse cursor off the in-flight toolbar, menus, and flight displays while you use your rudder. We understand this is not an ideal user experience and thank you for bringing it to our attention. Feedback Please get Rid of the “Offers” Button When in the World Map: 6 Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this new feature. While it benefits those who like to purchase more content to their sim, we realize it is not for everyone. We are discussing internally different ideas at the moment and will report back. Live Weather Still not accurate or matching METAR: 4 Weather issues have already been logged internally from SU7, and we understand they are still present in the Sim. Weather is a very important aspect of our sim, and it is also a complex system. Your issues will be tackled throughout the year in different sim updates as we hope to address them one by one. We thank you again for your feedback so far. Stay tuned for the next build update and changelog in the coming days. February 15, 20224 yr The opt-in open beta testing is going as expected. And this is why we pushed for it. I think the final SU8 will be an excellent release because of the opt-in open beta. I only ask that they have enough time to make the changes from the feedback we give them. Seems like they will have enough time for SU8. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

So, not that important? 1 hour ago, penta_a said: it is also a complex system Trying to fit a square peg (metar) in a round hole (forecast), of course it's going to be complex.

February 15, 20224 yr Thanks for the update. For the most part I've really appreciated being able to participate in this Beta and maybe have a voice with the devs. It is a unique experience for me, as no other sims since I started in 2005 have had this level of interaction between the devs and community. This beta in itself has been pretty trouble free, taking into account the above mentioned issues, and has been an appreciable improvement from SU7. I really look forward to the prop mods across all default planes and airflow in future. It is already a good improvement (in King Air) albeit WIP. Would love to see more buttons etc working in the KA especially. The only issue I have had so far is with incompatible mods (obviously) and the occasional strange error message, but thankfully no CTDs. If Asobo are following this (since they took the trouble to start this thread and update us) my only requests for now would be to a) reinstate stratiform cloud formations. This would massively improve immersion for me. b) Remove snow from airport runways, taxiways and aprons, and decouple frozen rivers and lakes from snow cover (south of 60 degs anyway). Longer term; a snow line (either from higher resolution MeteoBlue reports) or by having a freezing level altitude slider - now that would be amazing. Thanks for all your work.
February 15, 20224 yr Great news, and having taken part in both recent beta's it is refreshing to see we are being listened to. Keep up the goodwork MS/Asobo. February 15, 20224 yr In general a very good move, and I hope MS/Asobo will go on with this type of testing. 3 hours ago, penta_a said: While using VR, mouse over the panel or Garmin avionics locks up rudder: 2 This is currently by design and only affects the Rudder Axis command. Aside the fact that rudder not only disconnects when over avionis but also when over an open map, I will have to bind it to Rudder Axis Left now...? And when under 2D, I will have to re-assign Rudder? Rudder assignment shouldn't be rocket science. Let's see what the update will bring to the table. February 15, 20224 yr I for one am shocked but pleasantly surprised they'll update the Beta, unfortunately the VR mentions are not that great but hopefully they can address the issues that they created. I'm done with the Beta though, I'm used to developers actively engaging with the testers during such periods and not hiding behind community mods. Back to SU7 and I'll await the public SU8. Kind regards, Michael I really don't understand the "design" decision at all, VR mouseover toolbar/garmin worked just fine prior to SU7 so they've known since SU7 that it was a design decision? I'm just not buying that, couple that with the severe lack of direct communication...! February 15, 20224 yr Also the original post on the Forum does not allow replies. I wouldn't rule out some of the Asobo Team perhaps occasionally browsing the Avsim forum.... 🙂

I wouldn't rule out some of the Asobo Team perhaps occasionally browsing the Avsim forum.... 🙂 I doubt the developers responsible for fixing stuff read this forum. And even if an Asobo employee did read this forum, it's probably a very high level one. I don't think they are going to take what you write here and pass it down to the developers to fix stuff. They have enough to read in the official MSFS forum, they don't need to come here to read more about the problems of MSFS, and the features that people want. And you don't reply to the original post in the Beta forum. You can reply in the specific threads about specific problems in the Beta forum. If you have downloaded the Beta, you can also start new threads about new bugs in the Beta. But don't start a new thread if you didn't download the Beta. And you should only start a thread about bugs found in the Beta. Asking for stuff like a snow line is not a bug, it's a feature, so it doesn't belong in the Beta forum. For features, there is a Wishlist forum. Go to the Wishlist forum and try to find the relevant thread about your "wish." If you can't find the relevant thread about your "wish," then you can create a new thread on it. Lastly, even if you post a new feature wish in the Wishlist section, even if it gets read by an Asobo employee, it may not be acted upon. Microsoft/Asobo has a ton of backlogged feature requests. They generally only act on the features that are the most upvoted by the community. So if your feature request isn't upvoted, the chance of it being acted upon is probably near zero. This is why posting here in the Avsim forum of what you want, even if by chance it's read by an Asobo employee, will never get implemented. They have limited resources so they aren't going to implement a feature that nobody bothered to even upvote. Edited February 15, 20224 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
