SWS Kodiak update coming very shortly

Featured Replies

SWS probably already had the SU8 update, and had been working with it

Since SU8 is only in beta stage, and will obviously be prone to changes for now...why on earth would any aircraft dev consider releasing a flight model change right now that sounds like it is related to the same physics being worked on in the current MS beta?

They obviously have access to the beta but who releases product patches that are based off a beta?

The timing is strange and a bit worrisome to me, but maybe they are thinking that the beta will not effect their changes in any way. Either that or they will just need another patch on top of the patch after SU8 is actually finished and released.

All good stuff.  I wish they would build their own pax/cargo loader.  I never seem to have success with the MSFS version.  I load the pilot and co-pilot in the startup screen and then once the aircraft if loaded in the sim, I open up the W&B to load more.  Never seems to work right and animations are not correct for what I have loaded.

My guess is that SWS knows what they are doing, they have done a pretty good job so far.

I just load everything up in the startup screen, and then it is correct on the aircraft, without having to go to W and B in the aircraft,

IIs patch out yet?

If you use a consistent set of loading you can also edit the "flight_model.cfg" file for the respective Kodiak types. Just back up the original files first. The respective folders are in the Kodiak's "..../SimObjects/Airplanes/ folder".  I have not found in MSFS aircraft how to change the initial fuel load.

Open the spoiler window below for an example of what I use in the kodiak_gear_CP.

You quoted something someone else said with my name at he top. I never have a problem loading the Kodiak from the startup screen only.

What is wrong with the ILS, I use it all the time, zero problems?

Appears he intended to type "Is" not ILS.

You have to add the weights and check the balance directly from the flight selection menu, to the top left, together with the selection of the livery and any other configuration you want to apply (like registration, for instance). You'll never miss your co-pilot and passengers doing this way.
