Featured Replies

Was just checking the SWS discord and was shocked that an update is coming any time now. Release notes are out and they’re just getting some back end stuff sorted before it’s released! (Today?)

                     Changelog of Kodiak 100 Series II v1.0.24 || February 17, 2022
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Changed low idle to 54% N1.

-Changed high idle to 68% N1.

-Fixed pitch trim mismatch when disengaging AP.

-Improved Autopilot PID for NAV & LOC hold.

-Increased propeller drag significantly and corrected engine output at lower power settings
-Corrections to AC physics system to account for wind from all directions when doors are open.

-Added TAWS INHIBIT function.

-Fixed overhead reading light casting even when potentiometre was off.

-Various code improvements and fixes.

-Shortened condition lever movement range.

-Fixed AP, AoA and O2 lights culling in all cockpit variants.

-Fixed inverted VS wheel animation.

-Re-rigged hobbs metre (engine time).

-Corrected stray labels in all VCs.

-Added AI models.

-LOD2 now has dummy screens for performance (all variants).

-Improvements to the electrical system.

The fix I like the most is when uncoupling the Autopilot, having it not lose altitude.

I wish they could make the condition lever axis movement like detents (0% Co, 50% Li, 100% Hi). Having to use the Mixture axis makes it hard to hit low idle detent since it was almost at fuel cut-off, which I've hit a couple times... 🤪🤪🤪

Cannot disagree with you.

What please is LOD2 referring to?

If you are are looking at the plane from a distance it does not render all the details. Well known trick to improve performance.

I just finally finished my type certification and final checkride in this SWS Kodiak in preparation for a 30 day trek into the Caribbean.  Now I have to wait for the update and complete another checkride!  LOL!

What makes me wonder is the timing of this update. With SU8 in beta and new optional prop physics available that would offer possible big improvements if implemented by the devs. But no word about that. Just wondering...

Regarding the performance issue with the backup instrument.  Was that done with a previous update I missed?  Or maybe they still haven't attended to it?

I understand there a two workarounds -  using the default Asobo instrument or pulling the breaker, but it would be nice if they could just fix it themselves or even include the default Asobo one in their config for now, as I guess we will have to adjust the panel files again anyway after this update.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I can't see an update coming out before SU8. I thought I had read that the next update would coincide with the amphib version anyway.

SWS probably already had the SU8 update, and had been working with it.
