March 2, 20224 yr I did a search and didn't see a dedicated topic on this, although I think saw just a few people mention it another post. As the title suggests, after this update, I'm getting small popcorn clouds, peppered throughout the sky when conditions should be clear. They look pretty silly. Are a lot of other people seeing this?
March 2, 20224 yr I reported it on the official forums very early on in the SU8 Beta several weeks ago. Many others responded with the same issue in that same thread with screenshots. There was never an acknowledgement of the issue and topic was locked. The Beta's continue to be pointless and feckless... March 2, 20224 yr There's a question for the next Dev Q&A which will hopefully get a more targeted response to this which you can vote on: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/when-will-the-clouds-in-live-weather-reflect-the-variety-of-cloud-types-in-real-life-stratus-cirrus-etc-and-not-simply-cumuloforms-as-they-appear-to-be-in-recent-builds/499259 i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
March 2, 20224 yr Funny, I notice the popcorn clouds as well just a little while ago flying from KLAX - MMSD in the FBWA320. But thought nothing of it...interesting! Edited March 2, 20224 yr by F1Fan
March 3, 20224 yr Has Asobo reacted to this issue already ? I saw this over the weekend and I thought I'd bump this up since the Q&A has now come and gone. @scotchegg (or anyone) was the question raised about popcorn clouds in the Q&A, or did it fall under the category of "ongoing wx improvements"? Not specifically no. They did say at the end there would be ‘awesome’ changes to the clouds this year, some (but not all) coming in SU9. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
March 29, 20224 yr RES Weatherforce is so much better. I just wish REX and Asobo could come to an agreement to help each other and the community. REX works but it does have that FPS bug every once in a while. Surely both of them could FIX this once and for all. The depiction in REX is sometime overwhelmingly great. Chris Chiozza

I bought this product and wish I could get a refund. It's terrible. The crazy weather shifts that can happen on final approach is a killer for me. Even when I changed settings that is supposed to mitigate this, it still happens and is much stronger than default weather. Also, its a frame rate killer when it does change.

If using REX (which anymore is almost always until Asobo fixes the clouds and weather depiction) I simply close REX as soon as I get within 30 miles of arrival airport. Weather stays where it is. Well, you use the product that causes you less hassle. Both MSFS default weather and REX each have their negatives. I use both but mostly REX as weather depiction is top of my list. Any FPS issues are more than made up by the more realistic skies.
