DC Designs Concorde on sale.

It seems this latest update has gotten rid of all the LVARs for addressing the AFCS. Not great for home cockpit builders. LVARs such as ALT_AP_VALUE no longer work and I can't seem to find any other variables that address it. There's nothing in the change log about it.

Sorry for not updating folks here about Concorde after the train wreck of SU9, it's been hectic to say the least. While I'm sure Asobo and Microsoft do not intend to break things with Sim Updates, sadly they do, with alarming regularity. Despite many, many devs asking them to slow down and focus on fixing things instead of adding new stuff, they have not listened and continue to break as much as they fix.

I was able to talk to Jorg Neumann and managed to get an idea across that a Changelog in advance of SU roll-outs would help devs get ahead of these problems more efficiently rather than chasing our tails wondering what's been changed each time. The idea had merit with Jorg so may become a thing, and help alleviate these constant update bugs.

Concorde should be okay now, although there are of course many other bugs in the sim that are causing havoc for users ( especially CTDS for console players ), and currently my F-15D is invisible in MSFS, even though the other F-15s in the same package are fine. It's these sorts of bizarre issues that are caused, in my opinion, by MS and Asobo just constantly trying to do too much, too fast, and not taking care of basics first. The fact that something as basic as undercarriage doesn't animate correctly or reliably over multiplayer is a great example of what I mean.

Who knows if they'll ever really listen to good advice and start fixing the core sim first...

Hats off to all at DC designs for their work, and to all concerned with sorting out the issues after yet another Asobo update that broke things. It must be incredibly frustrating to say the least!!

You say "dead and broken", and yet this enabled third party developers to relax, and create better and better products without having to worry about updates breaking them every five minutes. There are pros and cons to everything, but a stable platform has its advantages.

Yea but it had major limits nobody could fix and it looked horrible.

“Looked horrible” is entirely subjective. You may find a friend’s wife unattractive but clearly he doesn’t.

What are the “major limits nobody could fix”?

18+ months on and they're still not learning from past mistakes in different areas of the Sim, it may take a few years at this rate so I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Of course during a "constantly developing title" such as this issues will arise, it's how quickly they're fixed thereafter and history shows us MS/Asobo are reluctant to Hotfix too often. It's plainly obvious (as highlighted in your post) that they need to pay more attention to less Sim Updates rather than persist with this strict release schedule and pump out broken updates time after time.

Hopefully the more pressure you and other top modders put on them the more that may decide to listen and alter their ways, but as above I don't have much hope in that personally.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

It's obvious that they are NOT listening to our suggestions to fix the core sim first.

I purchased the  DC Design Concorde - tried to figure out the normal procedures from all available sources - at this moment it is not flyable - there are so many deviations from what a Concorde is used to do when flown by numbers and some very enoying bugs  and curiosities - maybe they are caused by the New SU ore some other kerfuffle - I will send her to holidays for a time and try it a while later.

Couldn't agree more with your comments. This version from DCD may look like our beautiful Concorde, but that is as far as it goes, there is absolutely nothing about it that resembles Concorde operations.  I guess you get what you pay for.  Just take a look at some of the other aircraft now available for MSFS they are incredible, and then there's Concorde for MSFS it is such a pity such a huge let down.

I agree with you regarding the pity. Concorde is one of my favourite aircraft in simulation (I used SSTSIM in FS2004 and FlightsimLabs work in FSX both hundreds of hours - offline and online). And yes, the DCD Concorde is beautiful and has many interesting and well developed aspects.  But a Concorde is an aircraft that has to be operated very precisely and accurate to simulate what a Concorde made such a technical masterpiece. In my opinion this precision and accuracy is the DCD Concorde missing.

But I am aware of many people who do not care about to much perfection and are ok with what they get for this nice price. Maybe the Conc is further updated by the time and next time I try it will be a real joy.

In my opinion DCD Concorde version will be no better than it is now even after, say, two years more worth of updates and development work, I'm, frankly, reluctant to even call it Concorde in its present state for it may look like Concorde but that is it.

The DC Designs Concorde is built to be a Concorde for everybody, not just for those that want absolute 100% accuracy in all things, and for that target market it has conclusively, I think, proved that it is perfect. It's not marketed as anything else. I could make it far more detailed and in-depth, but I can assure you that sales would suffer as a result, so it will always be what it's designed to be, a Concorde that the majority can enjoy, in line with all my products.

@PTI139 and @sharkfin, I have provided loads of useful info in posts on pages 3, 4 and 8. Have you not read those?

The video on page 8 proves the DCD Concorde can be successfully flown. It Is a complex aircraft to fly but with a bit of effort it’s something achieved by several who have posted here including a user of the FS Labs version who has considerable experience.

Strange post from you Ray since I know you do not have MSFS or for that fact the DCD aircraft in question.  I'm sure if you did you'd be singing a very different tune about this particular DCD aircraft..  Surprising that you assume I need help in flying Concorde, I've as many hours flying her as you Ray, the help you've provided here assumes that the DCD aircraft behaves something like Concorde, trust me it doesn't. Most of the videos I've seen only prove one thing the presenters know very little about flying Concorde.  I know the guy you're are referring to Ray as 'who has considerable experience'  I also know what he thinks about this DCD aircraft.  I'm amazed that the developer actually believes that his product is:

🤣  in these dark days we all find ourselves in it is good to laugh....but perfect🤣 now that is a joke too far...

Anyway Ray hopefully you've not too much longer to wait for FSL, P3Dv5 Concorde all the best mate.
