Lost performance after SU9 update.

I had with REX Weatherforce latest build fps loss and CTD. Without no problems, butter smooth like before the update. Just a observation on my side.

Current version of Weatherforce doesn't work with MSFS - fix today (Wednesday) or Thursday.

You must restart the Sim after uninstalling the cities. Installing does not require restart. This was determined during our testing

Ahh, I just did, and also deleted the rolling cache so will retest after those maneuvers.

I have to get back onnut statement that both my systems do not suffer from a performance loss.

Today I flew from Amsterdam Schiphol to Ajaccio Corse and the framerate stayed above 30.

However, I just did 45 min of sightseeing over the Netherlands: took off from Schiphol abd landed at Schiphol.
At landing I remarked stuttering so I checked the framerate :

B4-FE56-FF-265-C-417-C-AA6-F-21-A2-A2-BF

The pc is a 12900K @ 5.2 / 32 Gb 4266 cas 16 / 3090 / 2 Tb SSD M2 … With all SU before SU9 I had good framerates.

There is definitely something wrong now. Being it AIG models, or Landmark Objects from Flightsim.to or just a bug in SU9, this is not flyable to large airports this way …

Nah...

You just need a better system!

Well, even I'm surprised--no change whatsoever.  MTms correlates very well w/ CPU load so is a reliable predictor of when things will bottleneck in the main thread this is a premise.  I uninstalled ALL of the 3D PG cities, shut down MSFS, relaunched MSFS, and discovered it still required right at T-LOD of 100-110 to get MTms to ~=20ms at EDDF in the same plane and time of day.  Identical to having all PG cities installed.  Don't know what to say.  So at this point it's back to no good explanation as to why.  What's different?

I've always been stunned at just how good performance is already.  I contrast what P3D v4.5 looked like, and what I see now, and it's magnitudes more complexity happening with totally smooth performance--vastly different.  And this also is very key:  dialing T-LOD down to 120 (I'm usually fine as I said at 160 so that is my default) is shockingly unremarkable in terms of visuals while flying.  Not sure I'd beat random chance in a double blinded test.  So the idea that I ought to be getting T-LOD 200 flying into KJFK in a more complex airplane doesn't really seem reasonable to me.  What I do have is Holy Grail flying where it's always smooth in and out of anywhere, already.  And my hardware at least CPU is hardly top end right now it's about 28% less capable in single threaded performance.  Top end CPU right now would take that from T-LOD 120 to 150 and that would not be noticeable anyway.

Good to know. It seems to have a much more pronounced effect in the US/Canada. That is for sure. Thanks for checking. For instance, all my tests are at gate 39 at KPHX. Noon with few clouds. It's a photogrammetry city.

I was getting 25-30 fps with massive stutters at KATL no AIG traffic night time with no clouds.  I deleted the 7 addon Photogrametry Sceneries in Content manager..  same scenario...44-47FPS... no kidding.  offensive initials not allowed mate?  Although I fly a lot in Germany, Iberia, and Japan so hopefully this gets fixed.

Curious,  which server were you using?

Click on your profile avatar - upper right in sim.  It will give you the option to select servers.

AUTOMATIC [WEST USA] 37ms. It's grayed out and nothing is selectable.  I'm in Arizona so that makes sense.

Thanks.  It's greyed out because you have multi-player turned off in the data settings.  Is the MP setting being off affecting any others with this issue?

Glad the removal of the PG cities outside of the US has made your sim experience much better.

What are those 7 PG cities ? Are they installer / displayed even if PG is turned off in the setting ?

I was getting bad performance in SU9 following the update, however it's fixed after removing everything in the community folder.

The annoying thing with MSFS is that the updates are forced so even if you want to keep the previous version with the compatible mods, you can't.

One area where XP and P3D still have the edge over MSFS. I have P3D set up exactly how I want and I'm in full control of all mods and the platform.

Why would PG since SU9 have a negative influence on framerate compared to the other SU ?

In P3D when having Photo scenery enabled it was always loaded and taxing the system. Even when not flying there.

So now MSFS has this “issue” too with SU9 ?
Is disableing the PG cities solving the framerate drop entirely or does it give the system more fps for the main thread to start with and there is still a framerate drop but slower over time.

And is the framerate drop only on the ground (especially after landing) or also in the air ?

Today I will do testing so all info I have read and you guys might still have is welcome

What did you have in the Community folder ? Landmarks, airports, ac (AIG) , cities, mods ?

Myself I have POIs like well known churches, hotels, tv towers, well known buildings, all based on Google and DL from flightsim.to.

Perhaps with SU9 MSFS has an issue with those objects….
