Lost performance after SU9 update.

Well this night was just weird.  I don't know if Asobo pushed an update or what...but that's what I'm thinking.  10PM Pacific time I entered MSFS and it went into a weird windowed mode with a big cursor.  Then It popped up a window that said Do you want to use an older profile or a new profile on the cloud.  I said old profile on the computer. Then it went to an update of about 197MB. Which went by in a few seconds. After which i noticed everything was super smooth in the UI.  So I went to Asobo KATL and was seeing 45-60 FPS. So on a whim I decided Reinstall the 7 Photogrammety sceneries and then went to Asobo KATL... still 45-60 fps. Got out of MSFS, wen back in made sure the 7 photogrammetry sceneries were there and then went to KATL.. 45-60 FPS.... Went a few more places solid 45-60 FPS everywhere.  Did anyone else get this experience?

I hope so.

It would be nice if Asobo would give a statement so we know what to expect and in the time being use some lower settings ….

So, the team is now officially investigating this issue.  Maybe this will quell the franchise flag wavers patented response to this and other problems brought on by updates:  "Well, it's not happening to me - so it just CAN'T be true".

Like I said it's fixed for me.  I just did an incredible flight over Sicily at sunset never stuttered, panning was lightning fast in the A32NX. 60 FPS solid on high-end/ultra settings.

With my previous test, I went to KATL and was able to hold 60FPS on the ground with the photogrammetry installed.

So if the culprit was the logbook, wouldn't flying in DEV mode have it disabled? maybe that's a temp fix till we hear more..

One thing I failed to mention.  I had unintalled all USA update sceneries and reinstalled them this did not seem to affect any thing. However, I noticed that The Delux and Premium package had large updates availible.  I'm now thinking something got reset or was missing after I restarted MSFS after those package updates.  The delux/premium package updates may have triggered MSFS to look for something that was missing and thats why it did that wierd choose a profile thing and then downloaded 197MB.  All Iknow is I am locked at 60 FPS and panning with zero stutters on high/ultra RC 100 2560X1080 and the photogrammetry looks great on my i7 9700kf, 2070 super and 32GB ram.  Another thing I did was update my various sceneries.  UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE... that might be the key to this.  The official forums don't say anything about an update from Asobo, so I retraced my steps and this is what I remember doing just before everything went back to normal.

I wonder if anyone having performance problems has tried this?  I am not having problems, so I won't be doing it, but maybe it will help someone who is...

I noticed the Standard/Premium packages had a separate small update thru content mgr and installed those as part of SU9 update.  I've had no problems whatsoever with performance with or without PG enable/disabled/uninstalled/reinstalled.  Also the logging indicator which plagued me since initial launch was address in SU8 and it's not come back in SU9, FWIW.

I watched the video all the way thru and it reminded me of coping with GPU drivers 15 or20y ago.  I've not used any special tricks to uninstall or install new GPU drivers beyond NV's clean install routine for so long now I forgot about these types of rituals.  FWIW, I see 5 NVIDIA containers in TM and yet I have no performance problems whatsoever on maximum graphics settings and haven't had anything weird in this regard for, it seems like, forever.  I hope it helps someone who is suffering from weird GPU or MSFS perf problems.

I just tested disabling the photogrammetry cities per this thread and my results are as follows.  Tested at KATL Gate 29 with the Leonardo MD80.  Computer specs in signature.

Photogrammetry ON:

Cockpit default view 38 fps

Wing View 40 fps

Overhead Panel View 45 fps

Photogrammetry OFF

Cockpit default view 45 fps

Wing view 47 fps

Overhead panel view 65 fps

So overall about a 20% improvement.  Overhead panel improvement was pretty interesting.

That's not really a suprise. Could you test what happens when you delete the WU PG cities but leave PG on, as suggested here?
