Geez I hope they meant increased  sound volumes, one of the biggest complaints to many including me. Maybe a sound slider?

Thanks for posting this.  I am still on the fence about going for this one.  I have the PMDG 737, and am leaning toward this over the Fenix, but am in no rush as there the PMDG is keeping me pretty busy.  I like that the FMC is close or the same as the Boeing.

Just an incredible aircraft!

Hand flying this baby is as good as it gets!

Same for the Fenix A320.

Don't have the PMDG 737 yet- waiting on the -800 to come out.

Blasting out of Dallas, they're having some rough weather today.

A few queries - Flight planning: Can it take into the MCDU & use an FP from MSFS Scenario set up?; from Little Navmap??, Simbrief??

How do you find it for ILS approaches?

Also can it Autoland?

Thank you

T45

Hey T45,  I've only been importing my flight plans through Simbrief so I'm not sure if you can import through msfs it Little Navmap.

It flies ILS approaches perfectly and yes it does have CATIII autoland capability.

The A320, 737 or Maddog? They aren't making this easy on us.

Yes, that order of buying them is correct! 😋

The A320, 737 AND Maddog. There! Fixed it for you! 😆

I recently moved from P3D v5 to MSFS and I love flying the Maddog in MSFS as well. It does not yet have third party sounds like TSS and Immersive Audio yet, but I'm sure they are to come.

FTSIM has released a sound pack which it seems they are working on as they have released an update recently, which could be an alternative.

If you like having a bit more work to do than to let the automation do your job, then by all means get the Maddog. I have purchased Fenix also despite never thinking I would ever fly an Airbus, due to the impressive work that was done on it.

FPS wise, the Maddog is lighter (i7 8770k, GTX 1080Ti).

I am importing the simbrief flightplans and then loading them from the Maddog load manager, it's quite easy and just takes a few seconds so don't worry about that part. You need it anyway in order to make sure your weights and performance calculations are correct as per the briefing.

I'm the other way around - I have the Fenix A320, but currently holding off the PMDG B737 (no EFB), Just Flight BAe 146 (cut down FMC) and the Maddog.  I fancy the Maddog but will have to watch some videos to see if it comes up to the level of integration of the Fenix A320 (EFB that can be displayed on external tablet, Simbrief, Navigraph)

CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D  RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090
Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440
Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD
External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

The Maddog is a great plane, plenty of systems fidelity, a good enough EFB, VNAV/LNAV/APP working flawlessly as per how the real plane performed (apparently), not too hard on the CPU, hand flying that is a very interesting experience to handle, a bit less automated than the Boeing 737-700 but plenty automated enough that you don't have to manually take care of everything (I imagine it was probably seen as being a very advanced airliner for its time with autothrottle, full VNAV and even autoland). Failures properly simulated as far as I could see, so we're on study level grounds definitely.

Where it REALLY falls behind is in the graphical department where the cockpit is clearly severely outdated in terms of MSFS standards and is clearly from a bygone era, especially texture wise, although it is a bit alleviated by the natural beauty and inherent charisma of the MD-80s cockpit where early modern cockpits still clashes with vintage era and looks very atmospheric.

That and the subpar sounds. The plane definitely lacks some of the immersive factor of the Fenix A320 and the PMDG 737 but at a higher price.
