Airliners that can be released in 2h of 2022?

With the "first" batch of the airliners being released (JustFlight BAE 146, Leonardo Maddog MD82, PMDG 737-700 and Fenix A320) why not try to speculate which airliners can be released by the end of 2022?

In my opinion we can see the following (in no particular order):

iniBuilds A310 (in my opinion this will be next major release, beginning of Q3 2022)

Asobo ATR 42/72 (shouldn't be released in Q2/Q3 2022 based on announcement made back in 2021?)

Milviz ATR 72 (they showcased ATR few times, big chance for Q3/Q4 release?)

FlyByWire A380 (maybe by the end of the year?)

TFDi MD-11 (similar as FBW A380?)

Aerosoft A330 (most likely end of 2022, maybe Q1 2023?)

QualityWings 787 (big "?", maybe they will surprise us)

From the aircrafts which have been released, we can also expect:

  • PMDG 737-600,800,900
  • JustFlight Avro (they hinted possible Q4 release?)
  • Maddog MD 83,88,80?
  • Fenix A320 IAE -> Neo -> A319/A321?

Looking forward to the A310,  and i would'nt be surprised if the A319. and A321 were not on the next to do list for Fenix. Maybe even a A350 given time.

I have the same expectation. Own the A310/ A300 in XP 11 and I am stuck to it as soon as I start flying it. Remarkable aircraft. Small, heavy, wide. The aircraft gives a very special feeling. A feeling you fly a special item amongst those mainstream airliners.

What makes the a310 so special people want it ? 🙂

I can't wait for a payware long haul. a 390 head wind is awesome, but a good 787 or a380 would be cool!!

It's more of an old school traditional yoke/analog/CRT display aircraft compared to the more modern flight stick/full digital automated /LCD Airbus 318+ series .

It was still technically advanced for it's era, but something a little more early feeling than the common A320.

It's also because IniBuilds A310 in X-Plane is undoubtedly the best aircraft developed for X-Plane, so there are very high expectations from the community.

Correct. After the HotStart Challenger 🙂

I think a lot of these release dates are very optimistic, IMO.

I do think the iniBuilds A310 will probably release this year.  But since it's not even in beta testing yet, Q3 might be a little optimistic (if the iniBuilds entered beta testing today, then I would agree with a Q3 release but it's not in beta testing yet).

For the Aerosoft A330 and FBW A380, it's just a wild guess.  Specifically, for the FBW A380, I haven't heard any information from FBW on the progress of it. We could be waiting another 2 years for the FBW A380, for all we know.  For the Aerosoft A330, didn't they just start on it last fall?  Even though it's not a study level plane, a release for this year is still pretty optimistic, IMO.

For the TDFi Md-11, who knows, since they aren't in beta testing yet either.  But if I were to guess, probably the end of this year, or Q1 or Q2 of 2023.  When the TDFi goes to beta testing, we would have a more certain estimate of its release.

Anyways, I'm much more pessimistic about the release dates, despite the fact that the SDK no longer poses a problem to study level airliners in MSFS.  The only release that I am optimistic about is the 777 from PMDG for next year, and that's because PMDG has already jumped all the hurdles to bring out a study level modern airliner in their 737 for MSFS so by now, they should know the SDK much better, they know what tools to use to debug in MSFS, and they shouldn't have any major obstacles for their 777 in MSFS.

Those A310 and MD-11 are definitely on my radar as a priority.

If the A330 comes along, it'll be ok i guess, although it is a lower fidelity simulation. The 787 should be a good addition if it does come out eventually.

Indeed! They are like the Fenix of XP11, I had their A300 and it was very very impressive!
