Go Into Map Options please note I'm still on the older version or click the Back to BIng button. Also, if you want to uninstall the mod click the Back To Bing button before you do that. sp Edited June 12, 20223 yr by Sky_Pilot071

The New Bing tiles aren't quite as high res as google, but just running in Hi Res Mode in the app they are a signifcant improvement on the sim default, and the newer data is a bonus. I much prefer the New Bing over Google in the UK and NZ. It's way more consistent in IQ and coloring. The US is stunning with Google so far. dont think ill even test with Bing there.

No need to Stop the mod first. @ Alvega Just be prepared for a couple of mins of obvious tile loading if you swap servers mid flight.
June 12, 20223 yr I have tested this mode now, everything works as expected, I used High Lod and google server without any cache, the difference in Sweden where I fly is like night and day, absolutely fantastic, no more green roads and the whole terrain is sharp and significant more detailed, this mod are a remarkable improvment to the Sim, I also thought that the tree distance was drawn further out, is there anyone else who noticed it or do I just imagine it? I haven't tried the new Bing option in the UK yet. The extra texture resolution from Google maps more than makes up for some colouring issues for me, but ill take a look. I've been doing a lot of EIDW/EGPH to various European destinations while I Learn the Maddog and BAe 146. Europe is fabulous with Google maps - I find myself staring at the textures they are so pin sharp and detailed (even at cruise level). I flew into Bern runway 14 last flight, stunning approach. You fly over the city on finals with the snow capped mountains of the alps ahead. The tops were covered in cloud. If you don't see this with the Google map mod you are missing out big time! That's not default sim Bing maps as @Sky_Pilot071 said. I meant you just chose a new Map provider from the drop down and carry on, no need to hit the "stop mod" button first. I presume the Stop Mod button does what the Back To Bing did anyway.... It resets the Hosts file. You cant go back to default Bing without exiting the sim and hitting the Stop Mod button first. Sorry for any confusion, I misread Skypilots post. June 14, 20223 yr After about 1 hour of flight I start to get missing terrain and pop ups when I use High Lod, probably I do not have enough Vram (11gb) for use the High Lod option. Did you monitored the process memory. Maybe there is a leak. I flew up to two hours so far with no issue. I have 32g of ram.

No unfortunately I did not, but I will do it on the next flight, I wonder if cache would help, but from what I understand it will only help if you fly over the same area, or am I wrong? I do use the MSFS standard rolling cache and it works perfectly with the mod in High LOD. You just need to remember to delete it (from the MSFS General Option/Data menu) when you switch between Bing/Google. I did not have any issue. However, maybe there is a leak I did not see since I have a good amount of RAM. I will monitor it next time I will play to see if I detect somewhing. Edited June 14, 20223 yr by Frag
June 14, 20223 yr Hi there! I've been using this mod for the last three days. No problems whatsoever: no pop-ups, no memory leaks, no fps drops, no stutters... And the graphics are gorgeous. I'm delighted! Regards.
