Aerosoft Account Ban after Twotter comment

Recommended Posts

You just need to log in using "cavaricooper", anyone can see that account by searching members.
However, it only has three posts and the last one was in January.

Alas- the sign in is now requiring an @ email address and that is perhaps how this problem was created... sorry all, this is becoming a support thread.... mea culpa.

Hello- after posting over at Aerosoft and lamenting the lack of communication in re. any promised Twotter development, I was permanently banned.... any ideas on what I do as a paying customer? I don't know what affront my post may have caused, but to be summarily banned over a query about a product I paid for seems unseemly....perhaps MK or mopperle (the individual who banned me) or someone at AS stops by here and can assist me in figuring out how I access their forums again? I believe I am still entitled to support, nicht?

I searched for the Twotter thread that precipitated this, but that was closed here.... and I can't inquire there as each time I try and log in, it says I'm banned... befuddled...

Write it off a a bad job and have a beer. It's no loss because the plane is soulless and unenjoyable.

It's really a shame what Aerosoft has been doing with this plane.

It was one of the plane I was the most looking for and they ruined it.

Problem is it's sold really well and it hasn't really triggered that much of a backlash in the wider community.

Aerosoft have now seen they can get away with absolute minimal effort on their planes and I fear that's the attitude they will continue with going forward.

Jim- ok.. would you please tell me how can I access that?  Every time I go to the page it tells me I'm banned... it would be great if it was just stupidity on my part....

I’m not sure. My only moderation rights there only extend to the ability to close threads in the CRJ forum, and I have not been active at the Aerosoft forum myself for some time. AFAIK, the original “cavaricooper” account is still active. Perhaps you need to clear your browser cache and stored cookies or your browser may be trying to automatically log you in using the (now banned) credentials.

Jim- I believe the issue "might" be that now the forum requires an email login, rather than the old user name.... can't seem to login with username anymore.

I think people are over-egging the cake here. Aerosoft are, or at least have been, a reputable developer and publisher. You only have to think back to FSX and P3D, and the great aircraft they produced - the earlier Twin Otters, the Catalina, the Bronco, the Hughes H1, to name but a few.

I agree, they have lost their form in MSFS and that does surprise me.  However, you don't have to look far to find other developers who promise much more, then walk away from unresolved bugs and defects.

It seems that the anticipated sound fix for the Twin Otter has not been developed, and there is no word on whether it ever will be, but there is an active thread on the matter, so we can't accuse them of censorship. I've made my feelings known, but I haven't been banned:

Honestly I'm not sure how much more Aerosoft could do to disrespect customers with the Twin Otter, ESPECIALLY with the appalling way they handled valid issues being raised when the plane was released.

They have always been that way, nothing new.

I had the P3D version of their Twotter and that was pretty decent. The delay in the engines' reaction to throttle changes seemed ridiculous but it was pretty feature complete and it appeared to be a product Aerosoft had put some effort into.

I certainly wasn't expecting the MSFS version to be such a terrible low-effort disappointment.

I agree, but...
There is a fundamental cultural difference between the two sides of the Atlantic.
It results in the direct and matter of fact approach used by certain European nationalities
being found offensive by some of those on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
There are those that find the effusive "have a nice day" and "thanks for being a loyal customer" approach equally trying.
It does not make either wrong, or indeed right and a little tolerance of the differences would go a long way.
Not much chance of that here though.

The post added above mine while I was typing is a perfect illustration of the deep and thoughtful analysis
that goes so far towards promoting sweetness and light amongst us all.

I'm german and Aerosoft is based in Germany, and I can guarantee you that any german citizen would find Aerosoft's customer treatment unprofessional and borderline offensive, just as everyone else does.

We are all different, I find it short, to the point and sometimes amusing.
I have also never been offended by a reply made by Captain Sim staff,
to me or to anyone else, though apparently there are many who cannot
abide their "rudeness".
In my now ended working life, I have dealt with people whose behaviour
would make the worst possible Aerosoft support remark look like the
highest compliment in comparison.
Perhaps that is why I am harder to offend than some apparently are.
