I was just musing over the total cost of all the add ons and whether or not anyone had actually bought them all. I did not mean to cast any aspersions on anyone regarding their financial status. I apologise for any offence. 😟 IM sure none was taken. An interesting muse judging by the number of responses. Vic green
July 21, 20223 yr The money I spend on flight simming isn't really mine. It's my children's inheritance so there's no need to be cheap about it. Noel Edited July 21, 20223 yr by birdguy The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

Yep, You have to do what's important to you. I similarly chose a modest home so I could indulge in my hobbies. Perspective is everything though. The gentleman I share my RV with at the track works with Jeff Bezos's finances, the RV next to us was the France family and my buddy John had his driver bring his 45 foot bus for the week and he choppered to the track instead. Me, I pull up with my race car on an open trailer and feel poor next to the double stacked car haulers and the cars that are worth as much as my house LOL!!! Ironically, those super wealthy guys I associate with are the hardest workers I know. Not in terms of physical labor but in terms of dedication to their jobs... It's amazing to see a guy who doesn't "have" to work "choose" to work and still work harder than most of the people I know who "have" to work to make ends meet. It was interesting for me to be exposed to this world or my assumptions would have been WAY off... What type of boat? Something so relaxing about the water gently hitting the hull as the boat rocks side to side... One of the most relaxing sounds in the world! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Noel 😁 At the end of the day, if you haver disposable income, then you cant be criticised for spending it on whatever makes you happy. If flight sim add-ons make you happy, and you can afford it... then why not. Always remember that many of the girls have figured this out long before us, and don't just collect add-ons for flight sim like us, its handbags worth thousands. Edited July 21, 20223 yr by martin-w
July 21, 20223 yr What?! I was under the impression MSFS 2020 was graphically enhanced enough over FSX to not need all these addons?
July 21, 20223 yr I would have struggled to raise the necessary finances for my current PC (completed just before I broke my left hip in early 2020) without some extremely generous hardware donations from a handful of flight simulation friends on this forum. With respect to software, I am trying to limit the number of addons that I purchase, which is one of the big reasons why I am sticking with my "Flight Unlimited Great Britain and Netherlands" build in P3Dv4.5HF2. My only target at the moment is RD Presets EHRD Rotterdam v2, which is why I was somewhat frustrated when the developer indicated that the release of the P3D version has been pushed back because of more important MSFS products in the pipeline I will have spent a fair amount of money on flight simulation over the years. However, it is not the total that bothers me. It is more the amount that I have wasted on products that ended up being disappointing (including one purchase this year). July 21, 20223 yr I don't think I ever priced a woman's handbag in all of my 88 years. I have no idea how much lady's shoes or handbags cost. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

July 21, 20223 yr Wow Charlie! I'll bet Mr Gucci can buy all the Orbx scenery for every version they support. There must be an awful lot of billionaires out there to afford those handbags. I'll bet they could kidnap one of those women, strip her to her slip and underthings, let her go, and just hold her clothes and handbag for ransom. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. July 21, 20223 yr Good grief Charlie Brown!!! You could buy a super sim computer for the price of one of those empty bags. Vic green

We are about $6.50 for pump gas now but the 110 is going for almost $12/gallon... Each fill is ~$170 and I am at least 3 tanks a day at 4.5 MPG... It's just not feasible anymore and registration numbers are tanking as a result... Not to mention that heaven forbid you damage anything on the car getting replacement parts is a nightmare! I know a team that had to buy a full replacement car just to get the spare parts they needed after a wreck... The cost of a race weekend has almost literally doubled this year so being on medical leave isn't the worst thing in the world 😉 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
