July 20, 20223 yr MSFS addons are probably one of the things that are less susceptible to global inflation, if you disregard electricity cost. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
July 20, 20223 yr I don’t think I can even reconcile the spend on add ons going back to the 90’s and I don’t really care. My friends never understood why I do that. Guilty little pleasure. Jacek G. July 20, 20223 yr VR Flight/Race Simming are actually my cheaper alternative hobbies, to my past more expensive hobby of car racing, building ,tuning ,modding. These flight sim addons are pennies in comparison to costs of car performance parts, engine building and dyno tuning. About $8k in both engine builds alone. July 20, 20223 yr This is such a joke question. Case in point: how many MSFS addons (aircraft, airports, cities) can you purchase for the price of an RTX 3090? July 20, 20223 yr Be glad we have MSFS. In terms of visuals it's miles ahead of P3D. With MSFS one can focus on aircraft as opposed to every additional add on. July 20, 20223 yr Rich guy here I think? I can purchase every single thing on the market place and it would have zero impact on my finances. I only own 4 scenery addons and maybe 10 planes. Like many of us, I came from modest means and you never forget that so I just do not have the desire to blow money frivolously and I still pick and choose what is the best bang for the buck for my entertainment needs because that is what I did pre-wealth. Also as you age, your desire for things begin to wane and naps take the place of sim time more often then not. If you find your self in a position to start gaining wealth, your desire to double it, triple it and so on becomes addictive. It's a weird thing that takes place and that becomes a form of entertainment. This simulator and the addons you buy for it are for your enjoyment, the value of your purchases will never grow or shrink so net even but the value of your entertainment is hard to monetize. Buy what you can when you can and never short change your happiness. Life is wicked short. All that being said, I would be happy with the PMDG 737-700 if that is all I could afford... or maybe one the GA aircraft. Edited July 20, 20223 yr by bluescast i9-14900K / DDR6 / 4090 / 64 GB RAM

July 20, 20223 yr Cheaper than owning an airplane or even a share of an airplane by a ridiculous amount. Trust me, I know.... I built a PC, buy scenery, buy every airplane out there for the sim... still cheaper. Its a hobby man!

That's also why most of us on here are probably are not rich 😃 This reminds me of all the useless pointless motivational quotes posted on Instagram, the ones that have no substance. Like Rich people don’t or can’t have a hobby, they most often do, also they can and do spend more on their hobbies than the average person can. Rich people are rich because they positioned themselves accordingly financially and socially. As my mother would say in Turkish, stretch your blanket only as far as your feet go. July 20, 20223 yr I've bought loads of airport addons and a couple of planes for MSFS. But overall I've probably saved money since my Steam game purchases have been way down during this time... ...
