There is nothing new here, compare to very last version available for p3dv5.

i would like to see for example more bus at the same time when boarding/ debording, véhicules for cleaning / water

I am happy to see gsx come to msfs but it ´s not crazy.

Nothing new to see? Lol you are very wrong 😉

I wait every day for it to come out.

Looking really good, can't wait. I have only one disappointment and thats the list of menu items. It would be cool if the program itself could do things automatically in like 30 mins. So for me 4 menu items would suffice, being: Start Services, Start boarding, Start Pushback and Start Deboarding/unloading.

Doors open and close automatically

We already have doors that open/close automatically with the MSFS version: we were forced to do that, because default MSFS airplanes don't have any way for user to open doors, because they are supposed to be opened by the default ground services AI.

Fenix uses standard door events for their doors, so we only had to configure them in GSX to have the automatic doors function working with the Fenix. Whatever they'll come out with further integration, I have no idea but, seeing how well done is their EFB and the integration with Navigraph and Simbrief, I'm fairly sure a future GSX integration will be amazing.

About PMDG, we managed to find a way to have doors automation working there as well, by sending events to the FMC, so it will be the airplane that will open its door, responding to a command sent by GSX.

There are so many little improvements that users will discover once the program will be out, which might seem small, but might have a lot of impact on future GSX growth: since MSFS has many more variables to handle "doors" ( which are not even called doors anymore, they are generic "connection points"), so there isn't any minimum standard like in FSX/P3D of which variable controls which door (1 was usually Pax, 2 Cargo and 3 Service ), in MSFS it can get confusing very easily, since some default planes open the cargo doors with, let's say, index 7, other default planes with 8, others with 5. So we added a little button in the door editor to TEST the door so, if the airplane uses the MSFS standard, you can just try all possible values from 1 to 16, until you see the door you want is opened. This should make it way easier to create custom airplane profiles and get door automation as well.

We have a new feature, which is not visible to users (but we are thinking about exposing it, even if it will require a working knowledge of the Python language), that we call "Aircraft Handler", which is a collection of small pieces of code that gets called at important times, and can be different for each airplane.

By default, all airplanes use a default code, for example to handle door automation. Some airplanes might use a custom handler, which can override some behaviors, or even all of them. So, for example, if the normal "handler" action when calling Boarding/Deboarding by default is...not doing anything extra, the PMDG handler will first send away all PMDG ground services by sending the right sequence of events to the FMC, and *then* will make the GSX vehicles appear. Of course, it won't do any of that if they aren't there, because it knows which variables to check. Same for door automation: the default handler will just sent the standard K: event to open a standard door. But the PMDG handler will override that, and will send the commands required by PMDG to open various doors. Those of you who knows about programming, should have already recognized a typical OOP pattern, since the Aircraft Handler it's obviously a class, with override methods, and each airplane configuration stores a pointer to either the default handler, or a custom one that used inheritance and polymorphism to make up a combination of default and custom behaviors, depending what the airplane requires.

This should make it much easier for us to create custom behaviors and specific interactions that only happen with some airplanes, without having to place complex and potentially buggy exceptions in the main GSX code. I can't wait to hear from Fenix what they would like to have, which might end up in extending a lot the things this new system can do.

PMDG never really integrated with GSX in P3D so not holding my breath on it in MSFS.

MSFS and the Fenix have changed the game. PMDG had to update their cockpit animations, their upcoming EFB will have Simbrief integration. The community expects certain things to be standard now. I'm very sure PMDG is aware GSX integration will have to come. Not sure when but its a demand they won't be able to ignore this time.  That said with GSX coming out, I wonder if Quality Wings will pop soon to say something. I'd really like to have a proper 787-9 in the sim soon. Vatsim CTP is in October, the iniBuilds A310 isn't till November and the Aerosoft A330, who knows. I'd like a decent longhauler besides the headwind to rock with now that GSX is just about here.

In fact, you can even select a gate while still in flight.

Interesting... I did not see that option on the pulldown menus.  I will be curious as to what data this app reads to get that info and how it is presented to the user.  I look forward to the full reviews.

Does it have deicing operations modeled?

there will be deicing vehicles to call and see, they just won’t really “deice” the plane, just as they didn’t in P3D.

Of course, if GSX will prove popular enough, maybe we could achieve some traction to ask Microsoft / Asobo to let us write to that variable.

Which it will and you know it! So excited for you guys! I'm also a little selfish and I'm excited this is coming out so it frees up your bandwidth for scenery dev again, we need Houston asap Umberto!

@virtuali Will the ground staff still have a chance of doing the Macarena if you park your aircraft perfectly? Seeing that with the fluid new motions that have taken advantage of the MSFS2020 engine would be epic! 😛
