If there is almost $50 dollars difference between the 600 and the 800 I do not see many casual fliers buying the 800.
on the other hand it would be strange to sell it cheaper than the 700.

$70 was my "bottom of the barrel" estimate. However, I also do not think that they will sell it for less than the 700, so I will not be surprised if it is $80 or more. After all, 90% of the study level crowd can't possibly accept an alternative version on a real world route

I paid $63 USD for the Fenix A320. That was for one variant so I would think at least $70 for multiple variants is reasonable. The bottom line is, whatever they decide to set the price at you'll make the decision whether you are willing to pay it. That's the market system.

$82.99 with a discount of $77.99 is my  prediction, 8-10 dollars more than the 700.

In this post https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/general-discussion-news-and-announcements/176154-07may22-pmdg-737-700-release-pricing-where-and-how-to-purchase it was stated that the 737-800 would have the same price as the -700 (with the advice that it could be subject to change).

Quote

Pricing on 737-600/800/900:
Pricing for the 737-700 and 737-800 are anticipated to be equal.*
Pricing for the 737-600 is TBA but will be approximately $50.*
Pricing for the 737-900 is TBA.*

* Subject to change.

Things could be different now after more than three months, but I don't think it would be far from it.

Here we go 800. and then 77, and then 747.  I have been flying the 600 version $35.00 great price, I really wonder what is the difference between the 600 and 800 versions besides size.

There are obvious visual differences, fuel capacity/efficiency, cargo/pax capacity, and aerodynamic performance.  Remember in the video, RSR points out that the -800 is more slippery, requiring a more proactive approach for descents.  The differences are not huge, but the many in the virtual airline crowd want to use the same type as is used for actual flights.  Many will be fine with just the -600 or the -700, but those who are pickier can pay for the additional options.

I suspect they will keep the price as they originally projected, basically the same as the 700. And, to be honest, $70.00 for a quality aircraft with 4 variants from a longstanding developer that has a good record of standing by their products is not a bad deal in 2022.

I still have 30.00 credit left so I assume the 800 will cost me about $50.00, so probably I will go through with the purchase.

If the 800 sells for the same price as the 700, the difference between the 800 and 600 would be $35, which is not “almost $50”.

Maybe not strange if sales is double or triple the 737-700.

I do believe with your $63 USD for the Fenix CFM base you will also get the IAE engine and sharklets as free updates once released. That's a lot of variants for $63.

I can tell you I wont buy the same a/c 3x. the -700 is good enough for me to pretend im flying an -800( thats what we all do here anyways lets be honest since this is just a game). If we are talking 737 max then Im all for forking out the full amount as its a different a/c then the NG.  I think they will lose sales w this strategy. Is the casual gamer really gonna buy the 600,700 and 800 which essentially to them looks the same , flys the same bar some minor things? nah. only the hardcore simmer who thinks hes a real ATP is gonna buy all these for full price. Fenix did it right and actually considering they will provide free updates in the future the base price was even a bit low for what you get.

$63 for 6 airframes and PMDG should cost a bit more for 8. Both very reasonable and good value imo.
