New SU10 beta now available (build 1.27.17.0)

Featured Replies

The lighting in VR a few beta updates back was good. Now the eye adaptation seems to be switched off completely with a overexposed "through the window" view and a overly dark cockpit (but which lights up under a overcast cloudlayer?). Not good imho.

Great to hear, but could you please put your specs into your signature so we could see what you're working with?

So far the majority (55%) thinks SU10 performance is better than SU9.

I'm still undecided on this as I did a sightseeing flight around Cologne yesterday in the 152 and I wasn't that impressed with the performance. Sure, all that photogrammetry and the nearby payware EDDK will not be easy on the system. But still. The only way to know for sure though will be to repeat the flight in SU9, and I don't think I'm willing to do that.

That being said, personally I'm okay if they release it like this, then keep working on getting DX12 right. Oh yeah - and fix HDR properly 🙂

Can anyone else confirm this?

Yes they changed it back after over doing it in the first place, 150 odd votes against the change after the first beta build so I'm, for one, glad it's not there. Of course the idea is they have the Option to have it On/Off (and preferably a slider!) but they've yet to add that in.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

With this update I am getting some odd stutters where the sound and sim will stop for half a second. It doesn't CTD. Thumbs down from me. (Memory optimisation was just fine before this update. Is this an XBox thing?)

Just to clarify since I read some confusing comments about this. I'm on SU9 and I find the auto exposure effect in VR too aggressive. I can't look out the window in the 737 without everything being super bright to the point I sometimes don't really see the markers on the runway or taxiway lines fading into the brightness. It's my understanding that this was improved in the beta, but now it's back to being overdone?

Depending on your eyes/opinion it wasn't improved in beta, they made it horrible IMO so that if you glanced up to the sky it was a full on white out and the transition was far far too slow, nothing like real life. So they eventually changed it back to SU9 standards, which of course isn't great but again IMO "better".

The thing is with this setting it will be a very personal thing for each individual person, hence a slider of some sort would be ideal then everyone can tailor is to their own needs. The problem is they're trying to force it for everyone which won't work, I refer you to my comment earlier in this thread that Asobo don't really have a clue about VR...!

Thanks for the reply. I agree, from your description it's better in SU9, which is a bit of a bummer since I was hoping it was improved. I do like the effect, but it's just overdone when you normally look out the window and can't properly see the runway markers without leaning forward. When I look out the right cockpit window from the Captain's position I often see almost only white light.

IMO the eye adaptation works better in SU10 than in SU9. But I'm not using VR.

I can confirm that the performance is much better than the official live version (SU9). Apart from a few random stutters here and there which I am attributing to the downloading of new rolling cache files all works well.

I am doing a round trip today from EPMO - GCTS - EPMO around a 13 hour shift in the flight simulator and just 1 hour 31 minutes until TOD performance is still the same as it was when I left the gate at EPMO. Average flight time is around 5 hours 30 each way and 50 minutes on the ground at GCTS.

No, I'm on a PC and getting the same in DX11. Was fine until the latest update.

Is the Photogrammetry cities performance bug fixed in SU10 beta?

Thanks Michael Moe

It should be. It was mentioned in one of the release notes a while back.
