The plugin is showing up in the plugins menu but there is an error about apt.dat not found so no luck

Thanks Humpty for trying. Hopefully it will someday work.

Several times over the past six months I've posted comments on various websites and on YouTube pointing out that the default ground scenery shown for XP12 was invariably obscured in the promo videos, even the video promoting the new scenery! The default XP12 scenery was either darkened, blurred, obscured by clouds, or speeded up by 10X so you couldn't see it clearly.

There have been plenty of videos and images showing the ground scenery as the beta release got closer.  Laminar research has repeatedly said they are not going for global satellite scenery. Why not just use and enjoy MSFS - you know, the sim that is in year TWO of a TEN year development cycle. Why such vitriol on an XP12 forum during the FIRST DAY of its own development cycle?

AWESOME. You would think someone at Laminar would look at these plug-ins and maybe include them. here's hoping they will in the future...

Why would they, allows someone else to earn some money to put food on the table. Thats what xplane is all about. Anyone can contribute.

I have to say one thing I absolutely enjoy so far with XP 12 is the camera angles and replay mode both of which are an integral to any flight sim being fun in my opinion. The flyby and tower views are just great and refreshing after having neither of them nor a proper easy replay mode my other sim. It's a joy to watch my bad landings from nice angles on replay at the click of a button. I'm not saying this makes up for other missing elements but it is a lot of fun and will keep me coming back.

One place that I believe XP12 could really shine is with bush flying. The trees look great up close. I can imagine challenging flights in Alaska or British Columbia with a nice DEM and some orthoscenery (or flying with snow on the ground). The new trees blowing in the wind look great. Makes me want to go camping.

On a side note, I do hope Laminar improve the roads as well as the ground textures. I find in rural areas the roads really break the immersion of the nice new trees especially when you see huge suburban style roads zig zagging up the sides of hills or mountains at sharp angles. Maybe they could implement rural roads that are more curved and smaller as well as stand out less. Some procedural grass would be great as well especially for bush flying.

To try to keep their customers happy. To at least try to compete a little with the other sims. I don't know, I would be one happier customer if they offered what their competition is giving their customers...

The words here is try and happy, I would have more chance of winning the lotto while standing on my head in the middle of a cyclone while singing Mary had a little lamb than pleasing laminars so called "customers". I wonder how many of you actually ever used it.. And i think the evidence is in this forum, they have very little hope.

NO! Please DON'T! X-Plane users don't want the broken flight modeling of the competition (which is BTW acknowledged by many MSFS users).

You have a funny way of saying "All that stuff costs extra and needs separate caretaking in addition to the sim itself. And if the sim bugs out because of all your add-ons, we'll tell you it's your fault for using them in the first place!" 😉

Dumb question but is Live traffic freeware or payware? Is it easy to set up?

I bought World Traffic several years ago for XP 11 but have not been using XP for the past few years so I'm a bit out of the loop.

Freeware. Not extremely easy and not extremely hard to set up ... so, something in between.

Its you saying it, Anyone can make addons for xplane, Laminar had pretty much forced them to do things properly in the xp11 run. If you do a driving course than proceed to crash you car, is it the instructors fault.  Seems you all just want to pick on Laminar, sorry they have got rather hard over the years they seem to be the underdog that everyone likes to pick on  and pay little heed to you lot these days. Good on them, even mentioned over on other forum, they new this was coming. All that hard effort buy a small well organised team just ridiculed.

Quite easy not like AIG in MSFS lol. Here's their website - https://twinfan.gitbook.io/livetraffic/setup/installation/step-by-step

Thanks. Out of curiosity, how does it rate against payware like World Traffic and Just Flight's offering (I can't recall the name)?
