for the most part it works perfectly for me.  I have only noticed two issues.

1) At some airports the pax walk through walls of the jet bridge (too high usually so their heads pop through).

2) Most annoying issue for me is that if I "reset position" I cannot get the Coautl engine to restart.  No matter what I do.  I have reset a few times when I wanted to cut short the pax loading and just move to pushback.  I might have to resolve this by starting pax loading earlier and moving to the highest density setting.

Actually come to think of it a very nice option would be to be able to stop any service or pax loading to move on to something else.  Don't think this exists you always have to wait for it to be done.

Because there are some freeware airports that come with custom ones and also payware that may come with default jetways … How does GSX handle that ?

Thanks,

Pierre

It provides a place for you to exclude them manually. Start the installer, type the airport ID into the box, and then click the arrow to move the airport to the "excluded" column.

I do it all the time. Click "Restart Couatl" and everything resets itself to the point it was when you first started the flight. All you have to do is close any doors that were previously opened.

Do you click Restart Couatl only or are you also going into the GSX menu and clicking "Reset Parking Position" ?  I am doing the latter and then the Couatl engine does not restart.

To the OP - If you're certain you're going to buy it, then it really makes little difference whether you buy it now or later (unless you're waiting for a sale or something). As others have stated, it's a bit buggy now, so you could in theory buy it, try it, and uninstall it if you don't like the current state. Then just reinstall a few months later.

Personally I bought it on Day 1, ran into all the issues, and decided to uninstall and come back in a few months when (or if) it's better.

I've only used restart Couatl in the past.

I just tried it. I started boarding and then used reset position to end the service. It deleted all of the GSX vehicles. I went back into the menu and selected boarding again, and everything reappeared, and the boarding process restarted normally.

Thanks. I understand that but I mean « automatically »

I have so much airports addon that I can not remember if it has custom or default jetways 😅

    1. Are there currently users suffering from MSFS CTD when GSX is installed and running, caused by GSX PRO?
    2. Are there users experiencing issues in combination with AIGTC (Traffic Controller)?
    3. Are there currently still users having issues with "disappearing airports" at arrival and is there a work around for this (focus on WorkAround)?
    4. Would you recommend me to buy or not to buy atm? Indirectly I wanna know: Is there a huge chance to get it up and running without those issues above or a rather huge chance I run into the same issues mentioned above or even other major problems?

    1. No, none I'm aware of.
    2. I use both and have no conflict of any kind. AIGTC works exactly like before.
    3. Never heard of disappearing airports, and I'm quite sure GSX cannot technically remove  an entire airport from the flight, no idea what you mean.
    4. If you read the manual and stick to it BEFORE installing, it will work fine. If you don't, there's a chance you will miss some important function / restriction etc. and will be unhappy because something does not work. Also you should read the manual to know what you get and what you don't. It's not for everyone in the MSFS crowd, at least for now.

It’s buggy and an early acces. It’s a must have any way hence I used it so much in P3D. But Ctds or disappearing airports? Never had that. You will buy it anyway one time in the future so why not now. Alone the boarding and deboarding with visual pax getting in and out is worth it

Thanks for the feedback. I have bought it a minute ago and trying it out.

One thing that bothers already is the GSX Menu disappear from time to time after seconds in VR. Or I need 2 or more tried to get it open.

Not understand why...but I will open a ticket at the right support forum later.

And what's also tricky, is I have several options for Fenix Services, door openings and closings, or things like that. Even fscrew offers these opening and closing procedures. This is ootimiseable but ok so far.

The mods may close this topic as my questions are answered and some positive feedback helped my getting the product

You're now aware of at least one. 😉

Installed it, started getting CTDs.  Pulled it out of the community folder, CTDs stopped. Admittedly only two datapoints, but I'll keep it uninstalled until it's baked a little longer in the oven.

I've no doubt it will be great some day as it was in p3d.  Today, however, is not that day.

I fly mainly in VR.  The GSX menu does disappear after about 20 secs or so.  I think that is by design, as it closed automatically in P3D as well. In P3D, if I waited too long, and it closed, I would have to take off my headset to use the keyboard to re-open the menu. At least in MSFS, the menu bar is available in VR.

Yes, having to press the GSX button twice to get it to open is a common issue. Hopefully will be fixed soon. A little annoying, but not that bad.

For me, No CTD, works with AIG without issues. Never experienced disappearing airports at arrival. Yes, I recommend, even with the current issues.

Refueling, Catering, baggage loading all seems to work well. Push back has been great. The only issue I have, is passenger loading. They don't always line up with the jet way and you see passengers walking in mid air beside the jetway or through it, or on top of it.  I think this is mainly with 3d party airports which I mainly use.  I'm sure that will get fixed as new profiles are developed for these payware airports.  Overall, I enjoy it and I know it will continue to get better and better.

I did understand also, that GSX Pro has the ability to do this (partly) automatically (at installation?).

The Community folder is scanned by the Installer ( not GSX the running program ), to find packages that respect the official naming convention suggested by Microsoft:

developer-airport-ICAO-airportname

Those are found and automatically excluded when installing GSX for the first time, but if you add a new airport, you must do it again, either automatically or by specifying the ICAO. Those packages that don't conform to the above naming convention, won't be recognized automatically, but can always be excluded manually by searching their ICAO.

The content.xml is never used in any case.

And are, at the moment, via marketplace bought and installed airports not included having the possibility to manually create  / enhance parking spots and vehicle placement configuration?

If the airport is bought on the Marketplace, GSX will work badly on it, since it will use data from the underlying default airport. It might work, somewhat, but there will be issues, especially if parking spots are renamed or moved significantly from their original position in the default scenery for the same airport.

At this time, the best option is to trying to obtain an unencrypted version of the airport file from the original scenery developer. Our installer will do this automatically for all our airports, if it finds them in the Official (=encrypted) folder,

This is not a problem or a bug, read Pages 66-67 of the manual why and when the menu intentionally auto-closes itself.

We are aware this is not very useful in VR, so with the next update the menu won't auto-close anymore, there will be an hotkey to call the menu, and there will be an "pinned" mode specifically for VR.
