FSLTL - live traffic finally released

So without having to read the entire thread, does FSTL have better looking paints/models than AIG, or what is the advantage?

Yes. IMO. And they’re made for MSFS whereas I think some (a lot?) of the AIG models are “ports” from FSX. And FSLTS has awesome sounds in comparison, good external lights - and contrails. Watching that Emirates A380 land at Dubai at dawn was impressive, with full flaps, spoilers and all.

The other advantage of course is the almost ridiculously easy installation and configuration in comparison. Of course this doesn’t matter as much for people like me that already had a full AIG setup before getting FSLTL.

Is that a default airport or a pay airport?  At IRL busy airports like Boston Logan and LaGuardia, I'm seeing no takeoffs or landings, but those are both payware airports and I'm wondering if that's a factor....

I do think the way the taxiways are configured matters. Not sure if it’s related to default vs payware. Both Dubai and Haneda are Asobo enhanced airports though, and the “flow” was great there. But it was also good at VHHH Hong Kong which I have as payware.

On FR24 I spotted a triple 7 from Taipei coming in to land at VHHH rwy 07R. And just seconds after it had landed IRL it landed in the sim.

Interestingly, IRL at dawn today at Dubai Intl, the northwestern runways were in use, despite a tailwind component. So probably due to procedural/noise abatement reasons, Whereas the sim chose the “correct” runways in terms of wind.

How are the representation of medium sized to smaller single and twin engine planes?
Do they even have liveries for regional like Skywest, Mesa, Allegiant, United Express, etc...

Though I guess Allegiant isn't technically a regional anymore.

Sweet, thx! I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere before.

Any ideas?

To have aircraft departing, ground vehicles need to be at least 1 (pushback trucks). I would also check at a few different airports, as the AI flow seems to be a lot better in some places. Also, it can take quite a while for arriving AI to appear. Whereas I find departing AI to start moving a bit quicker.

And yes, parked AI will be random (don’t think FR24 has any info on parked airliners with transponders off). However not as nonsensical as I first thought. Checking a lot of different parked AI tail numbers and it does seem plausible that they could be parked there IRL. Even the TAP A321s at Toronto 😉

Thanks for the help, Yes I have ground vehicles set to 1, 5, 10 20, or 100....no change....and i cheched EHAM, EBBR and EGLL.....all the same...no moving ground traffic.

More of a hit and miss. Airports with a lot of regionals can have a lot of blank liveries. But the correct model if you have a full AIG “library”, as only models are pulled from AIG, not liveries. It seems to be a bit random though. At Toronto Billy Bishop there were a lot of parked, departing and arriving Porter Dash 8-400s. Whereas at Taipei Songshan there were a lot of blanks.

I’ve seen a lot of regionals though with the correct livery - Dash, various Embraers, CRJs.

Excellent finding, thanks a lot.

I'm converting all DDS textures from x1024 to x256 and see if it helps.

Lighting is still working after DDS resolution reduction:

Let's see if performance is better 🙂

I’d check the FAQ at their website. Also there’s a lot of support threads re: not moving aircraft at their discord.

Thanks i will do that....but those discord channels are awful....alle messages are through each other and no real treads to follow....its a pain.

It’s been a bit better recently, think discord got an update. Now a lot of channels are implementing a “forum style” layout 🙂 But yeah having everything in a single thread is as bad as putting the whole sim on a single thread.

There it does, if you click at one Thread it opens a side window and under there you find the responting reply to the Threads at least i have found and done that last time i was there..

cheers 😉

Just resized all of the DDS textures in my base folder down to 1024x1024 with mips and have seen an overall size reduction from ~20G down to ~2G. Also disabled the effects folder. Performance certainly seems better with far less of a hammering on the Main Thread.

Also, from my cockpit viewpoint, I see no apparent reduction in AI texture quality.
