October 6, 20223 yr Process doesn't work for me. About 15% of aircraft have bad texturing. Followed the steps above re: XnViewMP and just added mipmaps with Ordenador. Perhaps in XnViewMP's batch actions, under 'Enlarge/Reduce', the dropdown should be changed from 'Always' to 'Reduce only'. Will test this later. Made backups of both AIG and FSLTL folders, thankfully. Have spent most of this afternoon trying different combinations of options in XnView MP to see if I could solve the issues with the Easyjet, Swiss and Iberia textures but nothing seems to work. No errors produced by XnView MP but the same miscoloured textures every time. Looks like I'll have to live with the frame rate hit for now if I want to keep using the addon, which I do.
October 6, 20223 yr Author Here is what im using - I cannot guarantee that every aircraft is ok but every one I have seen so far is good, including the liveries that i was having issues with before and that included EasyJet... https://ibb.co/Hgk6Yhs https://ibb.co/kXd84LF https://ibb.co/W2npVTh Edited October 6, 20223 yr by chickster25
October 6, 20223 yr As far as I understand it the reduce only option is good to have in case a texture file that shouldn't be reduced is in included. Just as a safety. The other important setting is the "same as original" option. It's worth noting that the resample type should be set to the default Lanzcos as different interpolations can yield different results. As a test you can only convert the Swiss a 320 or Easy a320 and then check the converted file in Xnview. If you see an image with a transparent alpha as a opposed to a black BG then it should have worked.

I used the exact same for XnView but sligfhtly different for Ordenador. As per @Ado198s suggestion, I'll try some test with the Airbus textures giving problems, one of which seems to be FSLTL_A319_EZY

I have had more success with a 'simple' command line resize and mipmap command but there are still some textures that refuse to be manipulated and I don't know why (yet). I have gone through nearly 300 folders and these are some of the problem textures that I haven't been able to convert without 'breaking' them. Have a look in these folders if you have converted the textures and see if they look normal and open in ImageTool or XnView MP. Some liveries show fine on some models, others don't, there is no discernible pattern, except how the textures were originally created but I am beginning to suspect there is a display bug in XnView MP too as that doesn't always display the same texture twice.. fun times Edited October 6, 20223 yr by toby23 Ryzen 5800X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, Windows 11Link to my: Dynamic Flight Dispatch Tool
October 6, 20223 yr Perhaps one easy thing to check for those that are having issues. Open the original livery texture ( the one you want to convert the 4k) in Xnview and see if it isn't already corrupted ( perhaps from previous attempt). I t should have a transparent BG not black. Worth a shot.

They all appeared to have converted fine when checked in Xnview.

If you open one of the above textures, after resizing and adding mipmaps, in XnView MP and press CTRL+H to remove the Alpha, do they still display correctly? Is the thumbnail normal or black? For example, this is what I see after resizing and mipping this texture, FSLTL_A320_SVA, which is why some are displaying as black in the sim after conversion. While the texture before it, FSLTL_A320_SFJ_SL, converted without any issue Edited October 6, 20223 yr by toby23 Ryzen 5800X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, Windows 11Link to my: Dynamic Flight Dispatch Tool

No. Mine display normal. Without transparency but the normal looking template. Not black
October 6, 20223 yr Author I wish I could help you all more but I don’t know how. I have run it three different times now with success. I just popped into Zurich and saw EasyJet’s and Swiss air. perhaps try different batches of aircraft or just convert all the 4096x4096 first? I wonder if some are converting image files that do not have square dimensions. There are quite a number of files to remove before running the convert process.
