I'm Impressed after SU11

With the release of Sim update 11 and flyable Ai Aircraft and Working Titles Garmin 530/430 and 10000NXI i got for free from the marketplace. This sim is starting to feel like it's predecessors minus the customizable weather stations to save on your flightplan and different cloud types, seasons and FSX style missions along with an Encyclopedia and Learning Center.Asobo still needs to add helicopter training to the flight training menu.Other than that, the sim seems almost feature complete.

I noticed some helicopter tutorials mentioned on the main screen but rotary wing doesn't interest me so I haven't looked at any of them.

Forget about the predecessors. This sim is something unique on its own.

Not even close.  MSFS is the one sim to rule them all.

Tonight I thought "right that's it I'm giving the helicopters a go".  My first few attempts were miserable until I stumbled on these videos on YouTube, really helped me particularly the controls video.  I never even realised we had different rotary controls for Heli's so all my original binds were for fixed wing.  So I created a new helicopter profile in MSFS settings for my Joystick, Throttle, Rudder.  Wow what a difference I've just completed the Grand Canyon flight and was weaving down Colorado river like a pro.  Granted I still have the two assists on in the settings but hey one step at a time.

Yes,the one thing the previous sims didn't have was towed gliders which previously didn't exist. You had to use Slew mode for gliders to get up to the sky.I hope Asobo will improve the sim in the future.

Things are way bigger that just glider towing.  MSFS surpasses previous (and current) sims in every metric.

It isn’t perfect but it is amazing. Give it another year or two.

Other than the already big list you mentioned? Other than totally bugged snow coverage rendering the use of live weather in many parts of the world completely obsolete? Other than no physical water interaction for all those default water planes? Other than a completely f* up AI engine being worse than those of FS2004?

Sure, if you accept such a huge "other than..." list, yes, it is almost feature complete *facepalm*. Dont get me wrong, I stopped using any other sim in my case due to the sheer visual beauty of MSFS, but there are still quiet some gaps and some of them exist since release and were not addressed in the last 2 years at all, and this is getting slightly frustrating to be honest. Although I am totally aware that it is not done by the same people inside Asobo, I still would have preferred certain bugs do be worked on instead of another set of default airplanes, sceneries and adventures...

Tom, would you mind sharing that one (1) video for the controls. I did at least already add a helicopter profile when I tried the freeware H135 from Hype some months ago but something is still not correct I assume as my flying is miserable as well, need to go through step by step again

Yet you went on to say what you did afterwards. I really don't get why people have this mentality. You wanted Asobo to lay everyone else off while the bugs got fixed?

The thing is,i was still playing FS2004 for awhile on my old laptop while the current MSFS2020 was in the midst of adding new features and bug fixing. So i didn't use it for awhile on my gaming pc when it first came out but now it's somewhat enjoyable after the recent updates and now with gliders and helos and some AI and ATC improvements.I'm starting to get back into it and hope asobo will add those features soon then i'll won't have to go back to FS2004.
