In my old i7 2600k I do not remember any advantage with Lasso. Is Windows 11-10 so bad managing processes then? I can´t believe it. Ok… maybe I will test again the Trial Process Lasso with my 12900k... It's not that we need it. But it does bring some nifty tools in terms of changing the assignments of all those cores and threads. Which on the 12th and 13th gen Intel CPUs is sort of great, as it's possible to put several apps (AI traffic etc) on the E-cores, making sure MSFS has more exclusive access to the higher-clocked P-cores with turbo boosts. Win11 is quite good at managing core affinities with it's "enhanced" thread director for 12th and 13th gen Intel CPUs. So using Lasso is definitely a very optional thing that many probably don't bother to mess around with 🙂 Another thing: I've never been able to record 4K videos without the video recording itself introducing stutters until I used Lasso to assign Action! to the E-cores. In that way it doesn't compete with MSFS. Edited November 22, 20223 yr by Cpt_Piett 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

November 23, 20223 yr Does anyone know the default priority for the msfs exe as I changed it to high but wanted to return it to its normal state, is it normal or above normal. Thank you in advance Default is normal. For me, it feels smoother in high though and ive not noticed any stability problems Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

That'll result in a CTD upon MSFS load. It's fine if one puts MSFS on the P-cores after the sim has finished loading though. In terms of other apps (Fenix, FSLTL, Action!, flight recorder, Navigraph charts etc etc) the affinities can be set with Lasso on a permanent basis. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

November 28, 20223 yr So I've downloaded the app from the first page (Bill's Process Manager), but have a couple of questions. In task manager, when looking in processor affinity, it lists 16 cpu's. I've a 12600k so this is 6 P Cores, 6 Virtual Cores (hyper threading) and 4 E Cores = 16. How do I know which one in task manager is which, as it just lists CPU 0 through 15? Also, in the App (Bill's Process Manager), rather than listing 10 cores and six virtual cores, it shows 8 cpu's (1 through😎, each with an additional HT core (1 through 8), so whilst the core count is correct, and I can happily toggle them on and off, I have no idea which core is actually being disabled.
November 28, 20223 yr Wow, this thread is like a time machine taking me back a decade,,, to FSX. Is all this tweaking really neccecary today, I mean how many fps do you really get out of it? Never felt the need to mess with any Nvidia settings, affinity masks and all that snake oil from the past since I got this sim:p. No offence guys, I just found this thread funny:)

December 1, 20223 yr Another option I've just realised is the very handy MSFS Addon Linker, which is free from Flightsim.to. You can set it to launch other programs with a defined CPU priority/affinity, and in the latest test build it will also launch MSFS with a 'high' CPU priority. Not as refined as process lasso but still worth considering.
