LOL, you are now comparing P3D with an 8 track tape player. Shame on you Bob, you used to be P3D's loudest defender.

Yeah, that way you have reliable garbage looking scenery 24/7.

That would be your opinion. @airservices clearly thinks differently and his opinion is just as valid.

If you’re happy with your sim of choice I fail to understand why you feel the need to denigrate other ones. You have a habit of doing that. Live and let live.

I just remembered after reading his statement, how horrible it was to have to return to P3D on my old PC, while my PC with MSFS was in the repair shop  for  a few weeks.  But whatever floats your boat.....

I may not want to use Flight Simulator 4 or Flight Unlimited 2/3 now, but I loved them once upon a time.......and I look back at them with fond memories. I will do the same with P3Dv4 when I move on, because I have enjoyed my time with it. I cannot say the same about FS5 through FS2002, because all of them were garbage.

My point is that if you enjoyed P3D once upon a time, why slag it off now?

The operative words are 'used to'.  Like Mchael Jordon said to Larry Bird and Magic Johnson - there's a new sheriff in town now.

Interesting perspectives on this issue - so what do you MSFS users have to offer a user who lives in a part of the world where their internet broadband service is incapable of supporting this type of streaming model- Nothing. You cannot fix poor network capacity not to mention all the tricks they get up to manage it by throttling users downloads (or even shutting them down alltogether - so you waste all the download you had used and have to do it again) here in OZ i call it the kiddies hour syndrome from mid afternoon til late in the night the internet goes to word not allowed because everybody is on it with their phones! So MSFS is a firstworld cable based high speed high bandwith based computing program - you ain;t got that you ain't going to have it. In my country supposedly 1st world G20 member etc we have watched as successive telcos and governments have completely botched the high speed internet broadband issue to the point they might as well start all over again. I will be dead before that happens.

So when some of say that is why we stick with P3D that is why - nothing to do with whose is bigger or better than yours syndrome!.

Yes I did try MSFS but it took 5 days to download and then would not run so that was that - why flog a dead horse!

Its irksome to hear folks talk about their 300mbs connections when some of us can barely manage 2.  And I pay $100 a month for phone and internet.

First and foremost, if you have what is equivalent to a 56K modem internet connection, maybe MSFS isn't the best for you. Since you say you are in "Oz," as far as I know, Starlink practically covers all of Australia and Starlink has download speeds that should easily cover MSFS: https://www.starlink.com/map

Also, using Manual Cache and Rolling Cache, you can precache your favorite areas to fly in, so that the next time you fly in those areas, you don't need to rely on your internet connection.  MSFS works quite well when areas have been cached in your Manual Cache or Rolling Cache, if you have a poor internet connection. You can also turn off Bing satellite and photogrammetry and just use autogen.

But hey, if your connection is equivalent to a 56K modem internet connection and you don't want to get Starlink either, then yeah, I don't thinks MSFS is for you.  Better stay on P3D then.

Thanks for the input - yep life is grand in Country OZ. Before I retired I worked with the military at Tamworth NSW not even the DOD+RAAF+BAE could get Telstra to provide a reliable high speed bandwith internet for the RAAF+ BAE. Gosh you even had to wonder around the buildings looking for a spot to get a decent phone signal. Enough said. See what the cost of the Starlink thingy is!
