FSLTL?

I'm not using default ATC though as I've had a lot of issues with it post-SU11. Anyone being able to use ATC successfully?

ATC works reasonably well for me if I do not touch the radios but do all switching via the ATC menu. Setting up frequencies manually or using COM2 usually results in non-functional comms. This was true before, but with SU11 it has gotten worse it seems. Another clue is when another AI uses the same voice as your pilot. Then it's sure to stop working.

That sounds odd. I have had no issues with it nor I have heard of others with the problems you mentioned

Well, it is what it is. Odd or not 🤷‍♂️ @Alvega also had the issue, and we got help from Henrik to sort it out.

Great news from Kaii (the developer of AIG) over at the official forums

Asobo is currently in the process of retesting the AI-System and identify issues that can be fixed for the SU12 release.

Are you using it with the free worldwide shipping traffic?  Apparently there is now a problem with having too many objects or .bgl files I believe.

Yes I am.  Hadn't heard anything about this issue...but I've been getting CTDs every time I use FSLTL around the Caribbean. Interesting

Every day and it works as it always has for me.

I haven't tried FSLTL with the A310 since the upgrade just downloaded, but with the exception of this particular model, default ATC works fine for me operating at UK airports.  It incorporates the FSLTL traffic and, if I am already on a landing run, ATC tells a 'live' aircraft landing at the same time to 'go around', giving me the priority.

But two 'buts'.  The first is that I do restrict the number of live aircraft and capture distances from default because otherwise it overloads my system and starts impacting on my VR smoothness.  Certain very busy UK airports have to be further restricted on numbers.  Also, I have found it is important to follow the FSLTL set up instructions to minimise other MSFS ground traffic, etc..

The other 'but' is the A310.  Maybe different after the mod but, great though this model is, it is very heavy on my system and I tend to not inject live traffic into the flights as it does give me stutters in VR and the occasional crash.

Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset

Those are separate issues in my opinion.

- First there appears to be a problem with the comm selectors/volumes on the A310 (and perhaps other aircraft), resulting in inaudible communications (since SU11)

- Second, under some circumstances the ATC menu becomes partially or totally inoperable - this is not just the audio cutting out: text output (subtitles etc) also disappears and the user cannot send or receive any instructions via the menu. This problem has ALWAYS been there, just seems to have got worse with SU11.

I've had issues in the past with not being able to hear ATC but it's been fine for months now for me.

If I use just the ATC menu, I hardly ever get into trouble. It seems the problems only start once I start fiddling with COM2 or set frequencies manually (like for monitoring ATIS etc). It has been like this since day 1 for me.

No CTD on my end but it apeares to trigger the "lost connection" thingie (not sure if it realy does it but on my testcases it seamed to have an impact on it).

Just installed FSLTL and did a flight in the A310, KSAN-KLAS. Very nice to see aircraft  at the gates as well as some contrails while flying.

New version of FSLTL injector available for download.

FSLTL Injector v1.3.0 now available for update from the FBW installer.

SU11 Specific Workarounds
* Sound workaround that forces the N1/N2 to 35%/60% respectively while AI is taxiing. This is still fighting with Adobo's 100% values so you may get a subtle variation in sound but much better than when at 100%.
* Traffic close to airports should now land without going back to the STAR transition. They will all follow vectors by ATC. This is close to the SU10 experience with respect to landing volume.

General Improvements
* Injector had been rewritten to optimise the code base and ease maintenance, plus removing the dependency on simconnect.dll.
* Improved start up time to injection, with less of a wait until the first plane is injected.
* Parking space counts for static aircraft are now dynamic based on the scenery in the sim - so this will correctly include parking from 3rd party scenery.
* Substantial matching improvements for model matching
* VFR traffic now use waypoints for navigation and will track alt, heading, speed close to FR24. (They still do not land)

Known issues
* Altitude on approach may be wrong and cause go arounds. This is particularly bad when MSFS is using the incorrect runway direction compared to real life. This is an SU11 change that is yet to be resolved.
* Aircraft on approach climb before circling to land, this is an SU11 change that is yet to be resolved.
* If you are using GSX Pro and have invisible AI aircraft, this is because GSX pushed too many sim objects into the sim hitting the fixed limit. Make sure you enable the 'less ground clutter' option for GSX to help with this.

Further improvements are in the works with respect to SID / STAR usage.

Edit: Now I finally see planes landing. Nice.

Thats great news, thanks FSLTL ! 👍

Maybe we lucky and the most anoying things about Ai Traffic gets fixed with SU12..

And that is also a good sign for Justflights FS Traffic to come into the Sim .

Yes, this is now a whole new ball game. No white liveries or pointy noses (at least I didn't see any), planes taking off and landing, taxying out of runways quicker, much better.

There are still problems, like some planes that can't land, some go around without a visible reason, etc, but I guess those need to be fixed by Asobo. Finally traffic is usable again.
