Allow me one additional question: - Passive Waiting is default On in RTSS (and your guide). - But don't we want to have it Off? When I read the pop-up help in RTSS, I understand it they recommend to have it Off to get the most even frame times. I always thought to have it On was a typo in your guide. I tried both options but so far didn't have enough time for proper testing. I fly with the setting in Off mode and all is fine. I have it ON and I vaguely remember reading their comments on that and at the time decided my system must not be adversely affected by leaving it On, and all captures are done with it on and I don't have microstuttering. It's been too long to remember why I left it on I'm sure I tried it both ways and opted for ON. It's probably not affecting anything because it's never passive enough to manifest the wait. Try it yourself and see what you find. Addendum: just turn PW Off and now see why I had it ON: big increase in main thread load, around 15-20% or so. Since I already have excellent FTV I'm inclined to leave it On. This being said I'll leave it Off for my current flight and see what that main thread impact translates to. August 5, 20232 yr Author I ended up with better looking captures keeping Passive Waiting to OFF for this flight out of KRSW which is easy on performance, so slightly premature as to what the implications of higher main thread load will do in complex airports. Of course we can lower frame rate and other variables, but yes looks hopeful! From start of taxi to cruise we have this, despite the heavier main thread load indicated by RTSS OSD, obviously it had no serious impact on performance. Next test will do with complex departure airport and see what we can gleen. Thanks! Thanks FWIW, I've stopped using PL because for starters I was getting a significant hit on teh main thread, which may have been a red herring but as you can see above in the frame time captures it's just not adding anything impacting performance.
