Carenado PC 12 latest update

Featured Replies

After the latest update, most of my pet peeves appear to be addressed.. which is lovely.  🙂

However, some niggly things remain..

- The GS indicator does not show on the HSI when the GNT750XI is on the testpage

- The green ILS runway remains visible on the EADI after an ILS landing, even after an avionics off/on cycle.

Please feel free to add to the list.. time to write to Carenado again..

Update: toggling both the CDI button and the NAV1 xfer makes the "ILS runway" symbol disappear.

I was able to find the code for the glideslope indicator and modified it, to get the GSI to show on the GTNXi testpage, see screenshot.

Send me a PM if you would like a copy..

Waiting to hear what @Doeringhas to say about the update, before I reinstall this one.🍻

For me as a tds user, it fixed the issues of the glide path not appearing and added the awesome TDS 650xi as well.  I have not experienced fps loss at all.

@blueshark747 Just took it out for a spin over Chicago. Frame rates are phenomenal. Flight dynamics have been tweaked for the better. Beautiful fluid like response on the roll. Liftoff is very realistic. I use the PMS50 for the GTN750 unit and all is good. I have also been informed they are going to implement a better beta range for precise taxing. I did not use the AP for the quick flight. Carenado has sold many units in consideration of the learning video views. They were definitely slow to update, but that is all in the past now. Based on the quality of the textures and flight dynamics, integration of the GTN750 and overall value, I can only see the SimWorks Studio PC-12 offering more in depth systems above the Carenado model at this point. Depends on what you are looking for.

Same here, I am using the payware PMS50 GTN750 and couldn't be happier. Same for the flight dynamics, they have become top-notch by now.

Don't understand that endless Carenado bashing in the forums.

My only complaint is to have no access to their systems.cfg which would allow me to implement brighter nav and strobe lights. They are almost invisible. Carenado is blaming asobo for their weak lights but that cannot be true.

It is true, as many 3rd party freeware modders have been dropping loads of corrective lighting addons for all top default/payware aircraft the past 6 months.

Will this bird, paired with the GNT750XI shoot RNP (AR) approaches and RF legs?

No. The GTNs cannot do RNP-AR approaches even in real life.

I'm still having poor performance after flying more than 30 min. Do others still experience this as well?

no, not even after 1 1/2 hours.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

No but I saw 1 or 2 on Facebook who are.  I wonder what avionics people are using?

Have you tried disabling the Avidyne in the panel.cfg file?

Seems to help some people..
