Carenado PC 12 latest update

Featured Replies

It would still be enabled though because the gauge is loaded up on loading the PC12.

Have you tried disabling the Avidyne in the panel.cfg file?

Seems to help some people..

size_mm=640,480
pixel_size=640,480
texture=$AVIDYNE_Screen
;zorder=15

//htmlgauge00=NavSystems/Carenado/EX500/EX500.html, 0,0,640,480

I only switched it off. I'll give it a try tonight.

It is true, as many 3rd party freeware modders have been dropping loads of corrective lighting addons for all top default/payware aircraft the past 6 months.

Partly true, but I am not aware about any other default/payware aircraft where you cannot see the strobe lights unless you are almost fully zoomed in......

Try it next time u r in the PC-12, strobes on and then go to outside view without zooming.

loaded once, refreshed/updated never.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

That's not correct.  The on/off button for the gauge is merely turning off the screen rendering (which, given the low resolution of the screen, has next to no hit).   With the gauge running in the panel.cfg, it's still updating constantly, so that it shows the correct values and positions, as soon as you hit the on button.   "Commenting it out" (or removing it permanently) from the panel.cfg is the only way to have the aircraft not performing the cycles associated with that unit, which appear problematic (and always have with that gauge - it was even a FPS hog in Carenado XP aircraft that use it).

if you say so; I'd consider that bad programming. why even have a turn OFF switch when it doesn't actually turn it off. the code should not execute this section if the device is turned off. a panel programmer could easily return control to the calling routine without executing any graphics refresh if he checks the status of the ON/OFF button. continously updating the GPS position doesn't consume graphics or main memory, refreshing the panel graphics did, especially in the old GDI days of FSX/P3D.

Brilliant, that did the trick! Thanks!

I constantly get the GEN1 error during flight.  Sometimes it goes off on its own but returns randomly.  Anyone have any ideas why this keeps happenings?

Yes, it means the plane is trying to tell you there is something is wrong with your Generator number 1.  :unsure:

It all seriousness, does this happen at low power settings (throttle or prop condition), and disappear on its own when you increase power?

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Flying her right now from Phoenix to Salt Lake City. I've been inspired by this thread. I think it's a really good addon and I'm so glad I gave her another shot.

Yes, my world tour in MSFS could be back on, and it might be with this bird.

That's what I love about MSFS, every time I think I've settled on a new favourite aircraft - the one to replace all others, another one comes along and replaces it 🙂

Happens at different times of flight, seems random.

Next question..

The EHSI has gained a new text line, top right corner, third line down.

Appears to indicate time to next waypoint, but incorrrectly.

Has anyone had a look at this, and made some sense of it?
