February 18, 20233 yr Good morning. I am just following a YouTube tutorial and when it says to switch Yaw Damper ON, it immediately springs back off. This is just after connecting ground power ON and setting the IRS. Thank you for your advice. I can switch it on after loading FMC. JP Reuland
February 18, 20233 yr I think you need to have the electric hydraulics switched on or you have to wait until the IRS has aligned. Also, check the version you're using. The latest version is for X-Plane 12 is: B738X_XP12_EA_3_7 Check out flightdeck2sim's YouTube channel. He's a 737 captain and has helped the developer bring this aircraft to where it is now.
February 18, 20233 yr Author Thank you for your kind attention. I will check all this. Regards JP Reuland
February 18, 20233 yr A MUST HAVE! I'd say the TOP in the modern 737s modelling !!! BTW, I believe I once spotted a plugin that could install and check for updates of the Zibo? Can anyone tell me where to find it? February 18, 20233 yr Jean Paul, this is correct: IRL Yaw Damper is kept off for takeoff an landing, only activated during flight. Happy landings Fritz
February 18, 20233 yr Author Hi Pegasso So this means that 90% of videos on youtube are wrong? I trust you and will switch it on after take off! Thank you JP Reuland

Happy landings Fritz That is rather incorrect. Yaw Damper switch is switched on as part of the pre flight checks. Upon switching on the IRS's it might take a minute or two before it stays switched on. Flying without the Yaw damper would mean that the plane would have no yaw dampening, turn coordination, there would be no dutch roll prevention and so on. So it is not normal to fly without one. February 18, 20233 yr Well, I just got 3.55 from the easiest source presently available - and I already had an account there which I created and seldom used for MFS, but now there's an XP section too! X-Plane 12 Mods, Liveries & Add-Ons | X-Plane.to It actually got updated recently to version 3.6. Happy landings Fritz As others have pointed out, this is incorrect. The yaw damper on a 737 is turned or before takeoff. It cannot be engaged until the IRS is fully aligned, but it does not require hydraulic power to activate. The autopilot cannot be engaged unless the yaw damper is on. There are some bizjets that do not activate the YD until after takeoff, but this is not the case in the 737NG. I don’t know about older models in the 737 family. February 19, 20233 yr I checked in that tablet and it also says 3.55, so perhaps download from xplane.to was not the latest v3.6 Edited February 19, 20233 yr by turbomax AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.
February 19, 20233 yr I believe I though that 3.6 somewhere else, and the latest os indeed 3.55 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
February 19, 20233 yr v3.8 was released today, and it fixes several issues that have been plaguing the mod since version 3.5. If you go to the org forum dedicated to the Zibo mod, you'll find it in the thread dedicated to the XP12 version of the mod. Enrique Vaamonde
