Zibo 737-800 v.3.55 for X-Plane 12

Featured Replies

Good morning. I am just following a YouTube tutorial and when it says to switch Yaw Damper ON, it immediately springs back off. This is just after connecting ground power ON and setting the IRS.

Thank you for your advice. I can switch it on after loading FMC.

I think you need to have the electric hydraulics switched on or you have to wait until the IRS has aligned.

Also, check the version you're using. The latest version is for X-Plane 12 is: B738X_XP12_EA_3_7

Check out flightdeck2sim's YouTube channel. He's a 737 captain and has helped the developer bring this aircraft to where it is now.

Thank you for your kind attention. I will check all this.

A MUST HAVE!

I'd say the TOP in the modern 737s modelling !!!

BTW, I believe I once spotted a plugin that could install and check for updates of the Zibo? Can anyone tell me where to find it?

Jean Paul,

this is correct: IRL Yaw Damper is kept off for takeoff an landing, only activated during flight.

Happy landings

That is rather incorrect. Yaw Damper switch is switched on as part of the pre flight checks. Upon switching on the IRS's it might take a minute or two before it stays switched on. Flying without the Yaw damper would mean that the plane would have no yaw dampening, turn coordination, there would be no dutch roll prevention and so on. So it is not normal to fly without one.

Well, I just got 3.55 from the easiest source presently available - and I already had an account there which I created and seldom used for MFS, but now there's an XP section too!

It actually got updated recently to version 3.6.

Hi,

That is an incorrect statement. The YAW DAMPER is turned on while on the ground during the preflight flow.

As others have pointed out, this is incorrect. The yaw damper on a 737 is turned or before takeoff. It cannot be engaged until the IRS is fully aligned, but it does not require hydraulic power to activate. The autopilot cannot be engaged  unless the yaw damper is on. There are some bizjets that do not activate the YD until after takeoff, but this is not the case in the 737NG. I don’t know about older models in the 737 family.

Click on the '?' on the Zibo tablet should show the correct update

bob

I checked in that tablet and it also says 3.55, so perhaps download from xplane.to was not the latest v3.6

v3.8 was released today, and it fixes several issues that have been plaguing the mod since version 3.5.

If you go to the org forum dedicated to the Zibo mod, you'll find it in the thread dedicated to the XP12 version of the mod.
