Black Square Announces the B60 Duke!

Recommended Posts

Does Nick C incognito on these forums? I gotta buy him a beer for these epic addons.  He is on a roll.

I wish I can commit time to beta test these days but I can't with my work/family schedules.

I know a lot of virtual pilots praising KLN90B, because there is a lot of romantism in flying old school, and totally get it! But back in days when I was flying single pilot IFR equipped with KLN89B  it was major pain in a butt! Transitioning to GNS430 was like coming from a stone age to 20th century   LOL

Absolutely but thats why it should be an option not the default.

Plus it's NOT a Garmin in a sim littered with devices from that company so automatically at least 75% more interesting 🙂

Fantastic update. KLN90 is awfully cool too...I wonder what the secret never-done-before features could be?

I agree with your thoughts. My next was the Garmin 400. You might laugh at this but 10 years before the KLN90b i was using LoranC  off the east coast when i was still flying rotary......before that it was time, distance, speed and hold a heading so when I finally got a LoranC I thought I'd died and gone to heaven..

Looks amazing!  Loving the new tablet with the detailed systems schematics.  Is this just one main developer working on this?  If so how on earth does he manage to put out such detailed stuff in such a short amount of time?

Black Square is proud to announce a partnership with Boris Audio Works for the entire Duke soundscape and hopefully several future aircraft. We hope that Boris Audio Works' exceptional sound quality, combined with Black Square's system complexity, produces an audiovisual experience that you will not soon forget. As an example, while starting the engines, you're not just hearing a recording of an engine start, you're hearing half a dozen individual layered sounds, each controlled by an underlying simulation. From the starter solenoid to the friction on the flywheel, it's a living sound system. Look out for audio preview videos coming soon!

Looking forward to hearing this in action. I think sound is a highly underrated part of what makes up a truly immersive experience. The more simulated and variable sound is, the more believable it is, IMHO.

Love how the devs (Fenix, A2A, PMDG, Black Square, etc..) continue to push the envelope and innovate with each new release.

More or less just a one-man-team yes.  We obviously work very closely with Nick at Black Square. The speed at which he works and the capacity he reaches is truly remarkable. Mad keen too and something of a perfectionist. Great developer, it's a pleasure to be working alongside him currently.

Wow, that's really impressive considering he has managed a level of detail in many different facets of the aircraft that many much larger development teams don't come anywhere near.  Can't wait to try out the dukes!

I agree with you. The TBM 850 is fantastic except for the sound.

Looks great, but a throwback Century IV AP in the high $$$  Turbine conversion?  Understand that in the piston Duke.  That seems odd and out of place  in the Turbine.

I wonder how it will compare with the P3d version.
