4th of July Independence day, Maybe

Flight Sim PC - OS: Windows 11 Pro. CPU: i9-13900K.  RAM: 64GB. GPU: NVidia RTX 4090 OC
Flight Sim Xbox - Seriex X, 3TB

Too bad neither Houston or Dallas were included. Well, gotta go to FS.to to see what can I find...

In the meantime, I'll be taking a tour of both San Antonio and Austin.

Houston was one of HD or PG cities from the original release. Dallas on the other hand, I’m surprised hasn’t been updated, especially considering that Ft Worth was also included from the beginning.

San Antonio to Austin was nice.  I flew yesterday, but flying around Waco this morning I see no photo scenery.  Anyone else noticed this?

Someone on the official forum also noted that there was none for Abiline either so not sure what they have done for either of these.

Kinda disappointed that Galveston wasn't done.  Granted, it's not much to look at but I wanted to fly over it while listening to Glenn Cambell's best guitar solo ever.

Guess I'll head on over to Wichita.

San Antonio looks really very nice. I remember some time spend at the Palacio Del Rio Hotel, near the river. Nice place.

Cheers, Ed

Reading the official thread it appears there's a fair few people not seeing the updated areas properly, a couple of cities have worked just fine but strangely not others.

I was gonna grab it to fly later and take a look but will await a fix, areas a bit too flat for my liking anyway 😄

I'll try again tonight. I was flying with PG off and didn't see anything interesting in San Antonio. As soon as I turned PG on, it was just as what I remembered from the real one hehehe. Now I'm curious.

Maybe the Houston area improvements @cmpbellsjc include Galveston? I'll include it in tonight's flight.

I'm going to Wichita, far from this opera forevermore 🎶😝

(I can't believe it's been already 20 years since these lyrics and riff were released 👴🏻)

Got this straight from Microsoft PR yesterday.

Quote

The fireworks start at 10:00 PM local time. The USA time zones are UTC-4, UTC-5, UTC-6, UTC -7 during the 4th July (DST). That means that NYC (for instance) 4th July 10:00 PM = 5th July 02:00 AM UTC.

It's pretty much everywhere in the US, but the show seems to last only 10 minutes (which I guess is realistic but prety hard to miss). If you change date/time in the sim it's visible at any time.

Thank you.

I used BGLViewer to find the coordinates, but that doesn’t help with time.

Interestingly one of the coordinates was in in Maringá, Brazil. I used dev mode to confirm, there are fireworks entities set up there for some reason.
