v6 Addon compatibility list from those who dare!

Recommended Posts

I was just at a Facebook group page for P3D v6 and someone asked Flightbeam about v6 and Flightbeam said there will be new installers for v6 but he doesn't know when. He said the priority is low because of the lack of support from other important addons like SODE.

Unfortunately, SODE dev went AWOL years ago. Didn't even provide support for his payware VDGS.

I manually installed all my Flightbeam - Aerosoft and FlyTampa scenery from the P3D v5.4 libraries to P3D v6 going to Options - Scenery Library with the Add Area procedure.

I have installed all the Orbx scenarios following the procedure described by one of the Orbx staff in the forum and all the scenarios are showing up fine on P3D v6.

I may be wrong but to install all the pay scenarios it would be enough to change the keys directing the installation to P3D v6 which I don't think is complicated to do.

Obviously the situation is different for pay planes that have problems such as QW787 which works well but only at night while during the day, although it works, none of the instruments are illuminated making it impossible to fly during the day.

Does SODE work in v6 if installed with the registry trick?

I would like to add that for me P3D v6 is more of a...P3D v5.5!

Assuming that I have an MB Asus Z590 F that manages 4x SSD m2, I use two Samsung 980 PRO both with W11 installed deciding from bios which one to start of the two.

Let's say that one is the Master SSD where I have currently installed P3D v5.4 and v6 which I normally use while the Slave is on the other SSD, where there are the scenario libraries for P3D and I start it from the bios if I want to do some tests.

This Slave now also has P3D v6 installed where I can easily do all the tests I want and then, if they are successful, transfer the changes to the other P3D v6 installed on the SSD Master.

To say that there are no problems for any installers, I did a test by changing the P3D v6 folders in Program Files - ProgramData - Roaming and Local renaming the Prepar3D v6 folders in Prepar3D v5 then renaming the entries and key addresses from Prepar3D with Regedit  Prepar3D v6 in Prepar3D v5.

As a test I used the QW 787 installer for P3D v5 which regularly installed everything on v6 renamed v5 and I did the same with Orbx Central which regularly installed the programs I had decided to install in the Main program of P3D v6 renamed v5.

Obviously at the end I renamed everything P3D v6 and I found the programs I had installed.

I didn't install pay scenarios because, as mentioned before, I installed them manually.

Has anyone seen the new ASP6 Beta download on HiFi's website? It says "ASP6 Early Access Beta, requires ASP6 Early Access license" but I can't find where to purchase the license. There's nothing in the forums about it.

I know it's an old aircraft, but the Quality wings 757 works perfectly in V6

I didn't know that the QW757 worked with PD3v5.4, glad to hear it working with v6. How did you install it?

It shouldn't need a registry hack back. Umberto from FSDT/GSX posted some info on how to use the add-ons.cfg for v6.

There's more info here: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,30122.0.html

Of course it works for version 5.  I just ran the installer and chose my version 6 folder. Works perfectly.
