July 4, 20232 yr How does one upgrade MSFS2020 Basic to Premium Delux version? Dave Hinson David Hinson
July 4, 20232 yr If I'm correct, there should be an upgrade option in the Marketplace. In the end, the combined Basic+Upgrade cost will be a bit more than having purchased Premium Deluxe from the beginning. I can't confirm, since I bought the Premium Deluxe version directly. July 4, 20232 yr Here you go @DaveH If you start FS2020 and go to the Marketplace, then use the search box to search for "Premium", you will find it

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
July 4, 20232 yr I have never really understood the convoluted way that Microsoft operates. It would appear that if you bought the "Premium Deluxe" version from the outset, you actually bought three products at the same time. However, if you wish to update twice from the Deluxe upgrade, you will need to pay three times for the same thing. The Xbox app suggests that in fact, I own three of the later 40th anniversary edition versions, but only one of them is installed The Microsoft Store, where I actually bought it, shows that I only own two versions and something called Digital Ownership. If the intention was to be as obscure and confusing as possible, then it has been a resounding success. Edited July 4, 20232 yr by Reader
July 4, 20232 yr way back in time, I bought the regular version. And then later a few weeks in the marketplace, I bought the Premium Deluxe version. It had all the content from regular, deluxe, and premium (i.e. all 3 versions). Yes PD is cheaper than D, but PD has all of D and all of P. It makes little sense but that was my experience. And yes I later got the cheaper plane bonus on a couple Asobo planes. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

July 5, 20232 yr If you are likely to fly more than one or two aircraft from it Premium Deluxe is a bargain. Of course if you buy it and fly everything once and park them it is less of a bargain. Personally I fly the modded Steam 172, and the Black Square Beech Baron regularly and also occasionally use the Longitude, SR22, Zlin and Pipistrel so have got my moneys worth,

July 5, 20232 yr Well it asks me 84.99 euros to upgrade from DeLuxe to Premium Deluxe and it's way more than the price difference between the two versions when you buy the initial game. I don't really understand this huge upgrade cost. I think more people would upgrade to the Premium Deluxe version if you would only pay the price difference which will be fair after all. Oh well, I will wait to msfs 2024 and won't make the same mistake even if I really would like to fly the 787 now.

Dave Also worth noting, you also get another 33% or so off all the other aircrafts that they release, like the ATR etc via the marketplace. Flight Sim PC - OS: Windows 11 Pro. CPU: i9-13900K.
