Did I not say that already in this thread. 😄 🙃 With the obligatory smileys of course 🤠 I also have an app called SimRate Bandit which verbally calls out your simrate when you change it. July 24, 20232 yr Author Sorry for starting a firestorm. My only point is that it seems the 250 SLOW when landed and it does not when taking off. Thanks for the help with the sim rate but it does show 1X. Chris Chiozza

July 24, 20232 yr Well, I have to say, that I too experienced this yesterday while approaching Duxford. There was quite a moderate headwind, but nevertheless, even with an approach speed of 120 mph it certainly felt faaaar slower than, what, 90mph over the ground? I also noticed the other day in the Comanche, it seemed like I was crossing the ground like a jet! So perhaps there is something in the OP observations, I suspect there could be, because I have never experienced this in nay other aircraft. Pretty much what I experienced as well with out the jet speed. Chris Chiozza
July 24, 20232 yr I have not experienced that phenomenon but it’s not uncommon for pito tube to freeze . I do pick carb ice quite often in A2A Comanche . Just wondering if you guys throw pito heat on to see if speed changes ? Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). I also have Avliasoft and get the same results but the movement across the ground is what I am saying is off. It shows a speed of 100 120 etc. but the perception is much slower. Chris Chiozza

To me, having made many hundreds of approaches in a real aircraft at similar speeds, the movement across the groiund looks pretty realistic. I think some are comparing out it looks with the tubeliners they have been flying with Vref speeds of 130Knots.
