August 1, 20232 yr From Jayne on the official forums; Currently the World Hub was on the roadmap to be released alongside World Update 14. This didn’t happen as intended so we inquired. The World Hub is currently going through accessibility and privacy requirement reviews, and our aim is to release it as soon as we can. We are hopeful the release will be alongside Sim Update 13 in September, depending on how the reviews go. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/scenery-gateway-system-world-hub/240399/309 Edited August 1, 20232 yr by MarcG Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

But I guess there is so much red tape, when they say "privacy requirement reviews," seems like either legal issues need to be resolved. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
August 1, 20232 yr For the uninitiated, what exactly is the scenery gateway system please? Clinton Royston Fernandes. Vabb-Mumbai India.

It's sort of a scenery depot where anybody that wants to create/develop scenery using tools provided by the gateway, can upload their work into ti, once the scenery meets certain guidelines (set by Asobo I suppose) then that scenery will be available to download (I'm guessing via market place ) into MSFS for free. Something similar to what Xplane is doing and quite successfully if you ask me. GDPR requirements, probably some IP questions and ambiguities for the lawyers to hammer out. Ownership might be a concern, it wouldn't surprise me if by uploading you might be giving up some of your rights to your content in perpetuity to Microsoft, but we'll see what language comes out when the gateway comes out.

Hopefully a more streamlined way of downloading an airport, than having to dig through the clunky store for a single airport. Perhaps something you could do from the world map itself. August 1, 20232 yr I will guess that there won't be any downloads that you seek out yourself involved. It'll go to everyone either by streaming or updating whatever base files we currently have. Which also means you won't be seeing anything too fancy and there'll probably be a limit on the amount of base assets you can add, if any are allowed at all. I expect they'll be aiming for a default airport with the most heinous omissions or mistakes corrected that maybe also looks a bit better. And no more.

August 1, 20232 yr The only analogy we have is the one run by XPlane at https://gateway.x-plane.com/ If I recall correctly, users are limited to using the assets provided by Laminar Research in its World Editor, so these airports do tend to look somewhat similar. The airport submissions go through an approval process and are then distributed in future updates of XP. It seems to be a successful way to get better representation of things like taxiways, hangers, signs, etc., but don't go looking for bespoke terminals and the like.
