SWS "no longer working in conjunction" with Pilots on Dash 7

Featured Replies

There's an article on FSElite about the PC12 but to me the interesting bit is a comment at the end about an edit to the article

Update: Removed reference about the Dash 7 with PILOT’S upon request from the developer as they informed us they are no longer working in conjunction with them.

So that doesn't exactly sound promising (though I can't exactly say I'm surprised after the strange way the project went suddenly silent)

Thanks for the info.  After some recent interactions relating to a Boeing flying boat , as long as SWS can get it across the line, I am not sure this is a bad thing!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Yeah I guess the big question here is whether they are now working on it alone or not working on it at all.  I hope the former but suspect the latter as I think they previously described handing their work off to Pilots to finish.

The Dash 7 is Pilot's project to complete.

AIUI SWS were contacted to provide modelling but creating a flyable plane with that is all down to Pilot's.

Perhaps it’s just that SWS a have completed their part of the contract. Their involvement is over. Like hiring a landscaper to lay sod but once done, the homeowner will add flowers/shrubs and paint the fence.

If SWS were fired by PILOTS, that’s a whole other kettle of fish. And considering it’s a year overdue, I suspect something got off the rails with this project.

Oh OK.  I thought it was the other way around.  That probably means goodnight to that then unfortunately.

Man, I have been eyeing this one for ages. This is not a good look at all. Kind of wondering if it's even coming out.

IRC the model was handed over to Pilots some time ago, so the end of SWS's involvement is old news. I'm still (slightly) hopeful.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Thank you all for your continued interest in the PILOT'S Dash 7 that we are still getting ready for release!

Please rest assured that development is still on-going, some things just take a bit longer that expected sometimes.

I leave you with a short video of a small detail I recently implemented, as we continue to fix bugs and work towards release.

Are the Engine sounds being improved? In earlier previews the sounds seemed to need some improvement.

Any current video material out there showing the PILOT'S Dash 7 does not yet feature final sounds, just placeholders.

Appreciate the video and update…is this still estimated for a fall release?

Could you provide us with a more comprehensive update regarding what is left to do on the model, and a rough (on the basis of calendar or fiscal quarters) release estimate? I believe this one was due nearly a year ago at this point. I think we're beyond "it'll be ready when it's ready" statements considering prior representations and estimates, as well as some previews being sent out to Youtubers months ago.

We are diligently working to get this released as soon as we can, hopefully by then at the latest.

A short update from me. Work on the PILOT'S Dash 7 continues at a steady pace. After integrating the GTN 750 in the cockpit, we have now completed full integration of the GNS 530 too. This means that the PILOT'S Dash 7 features custom made 3D assets for a GNS 530 that are fully animated and textured, these directly hook up with the Working Title GNS 530 code.

We are fully aware that you are all very eager to fly the PILOT'S Dash 7, we are trying our best to work towards a release date that is sooner rather than later.
