Exactly, girls night out, boys night out, a pint with the boys, drinks with the girls, the girls at work... are all common expressions regardless of the age of those referred to. Even my cat is referred to as "the boy". However, yesterday was obviously international pointless comment day. 🙄 Your definition is up to 18, but the dictionary says... "a young or relatively young woman." Relative to what it doesn't say. Some forum members are of course at least 6750 years old and akin to those wise old elders from Star Trek, so all of the females in the team, relatively, are girls.
