Not sure if this actually will fix it as it comes and goes. It's looking to talk to a server to check for updates and must be a bad connections on their end.

I start the sim a lot. Sometimes no issues at all.

For those who do get this bug.....

Just close and restart. Usually works second or third try.

Yes! Two different computers. Re-starts did not fix initially, thought it was my problem.

High end with 5090, VR, 2020 & 2024.

Same here, tried safe mode, addons disabled, reboot computer and finally sign out of xbox which seemed to do the trick then it went into an 8.6 GB download.

Doh

There is a good YouTube video on this subject that advises you to open up device manager and disable your network adapter and this gets you out of the "loading loop". Then turn on the display adapter after getting in the sim then go to settings in sim and turn on data settings to your normal positions. Search loading loop on You tube and the video is there.

Same here, the official forum also has reports with users stuck in "Check for Updates"

Had the issue a few days ago, after closing and restarting it messed up my installation.

Had the famous freeze fly now button 🤢 Recycle form DX11 > DX12 boot DX12 > DX11 solved that one 🤷‍♂️

No problems for me yesterday, same again today 🤷‍♂️
