Hey Guys,

I have been thinking about picking this up and have been watching quite a bit of content on the BS TBM 850 and the real one with Stevo1Kinevo. Lots of positive reviews and she does look like an awesome addon.

I downloaded the manual last night to have a read and saw that there are 2 options if you want the GTN 750, a free version and a paid version. Is the free version a good choice or is the paid version the recommended option? I would like to have the option of more modern avionics with the GTN 750 as well as the old school avionics

You can always just start with the free PMS GTN and then if you're needing the additional features that the paid version offers you can just upgrade.

There's kind of 3 options.

PMS Free

PMS Lifetime

TDS

I prefer TDS because I prefer my avionics to look/function like the real thing.  TDS does come with slightly out of date navdata for now.  Hasn't been an issue for me though.  PMS has some features like crossfill and navigraph support which are nice as well.

if you have navigraph now, you can try the pms50 full demo and checkout the whole experience for free (timed).  pms50 provides great support and includes wx, traffic, etc. so pretty complete package.

Thanks Ryan,

I just actually realized that there is a paid version of the PMS GTN 750. Apparently according to their website is is free on Thursdays.

Where's my wallet? I think I need a TBM 850 in my hanger lol

There's also an annual sub option as well.  However the lifetime is the way to go.

It feels completely different on the ground and in the air to the default TBM…I was so hoping it wud feel different and it does, feels very heavy, I’m buzzing with excitement here and don’t want to go to bed! 😃….awesome job guys…awesome👍👍

You can turn failures off and even reset them in the air.  All Black Square aircraft allow you to customize the amount, timing, and type of failures.  This setting is within the weather radar menu in the cockpit, NOT accessible in the MSFS menus.

TBM Failure modeling and usage

I did come across this note in the BS TBM850 manual:

NOTE: The “Engine Stress Failure” option must be enabled in the MSFS Assistance menu for
the engine to fail completely.

Ahh, ok.  Didn't know that.  I tend to not use failures.  All things considered, even with the assistance option turned on, you can still tailor the failure rate to your liking.

Just purchased and installing now 🙂

Do any of the control curves need to be tweaked for a Honeycomb Yoke?

There may be a few issues with switch mapping apparently.

I actually removed all the switch mapping as I do not tend to use them.

Loaded the aircraft successfully and going through the checklist for the first time. Staring off with default curves and I'll see how she handles

Once I've gone through the complete startup procedures for a plane to get some understanding of what is involved, I then start almost all my flights by loading the plane directly onto the runway with the engines running. Looks like doing that with the TBM850 means skipping close to about 200 checklist steps. Any problem loading directly onto the runway with the TBM850 (I don't have the plane yet)?

Thanks,

Al
